TRACES of a carcinogenic chemical have been found in soft drinks at eight times the level permitted in drinking water, it was revealed last night.

   

sometimes I think anything manmade including "all "the sciences causes cancer ....what I would refer to as a pastuerized life . Pass me a highball over this topic . Don't get me wrong , it is a good artical but , sa la vie ... you know what I mean ?

   

I know, I swear sex causes cancer too! Still, forwarned is forarmed.

   

I guess if I smoke and drink Coke my risk of getting a cancer increase?

   

Depends if there's rum in the coke.

   

Play it safe and don't drink any coke from Britain. Besides, in Germany, Benzene happens to be gasoline!

   

An I guess that if I drink a coke, smoke and eat at McDonald all in the same hour it could be consider an suicide attempt now.

i don't know if the coke really causes caner but merely try to drop mentos into the bottle of coke and see what will happen...
hint: don't stay beside the bottle, run fast!
moral: never carry out the experiment with your stomach!

This is something more 'recent' I suspect. BBC: If it's unsafe in drinking water, why should it be safe in soft drinks? Perhaps they shouldn't have the bottling plant in China?

So..soft drinks may cause cancer? Good thing I stopped drinking that stuf years ago. Hardest thing to do but now I'm really glad I did.

   

Actually where your body is concerned coke is only second worst for long term effects. Sports drinks haev such high levels of phosphorus and potassium that they just destroy your kidneys, so does coke, but not as much.

And yes everythign does cause cancer, breathing bad air, wearing antiperspirant, old buildings, the sun, eating in general because if you eat to much you gain weight and that increases your risk.
