I still hate that Pronger is on the team, not cause he shouldn't be there because of his hockey skill, but that he's an asshole. I just don't think that a dirty player like him is a good representative of our nation.

I was surprised they made him Alternate Captain for that reason.

I was a little disappointed my son wasn't picked after he scored a beauty in front of thousands of fans at the Giants game earlier this year. Still, at 6, maybe they thought he just wasn't wasn't ready for Prime Time yet.
great team--but there's going to be some great competition. Russia looks good up front. As one Russian said about the Russian forwards: "I wasn't taught enough words in my ESL classes to describe how potentially dangerous all of these players are." And I like Sweden too, because they're talented and have the Sedins.

Nonesense. Pronger is not a dirty player. What he did to Edmonton fans was selfish, but there's nothing about his game to criticize. He's probably the best player in the world and certainly deserves to be on the team.
What I wonder is why J.S. Giguere has fallen out of favour.

Pronger is a good, tough, skilled player that can obviously handle the pressure - if you don't like him, that's fine, but he does deserve a spot. Besides, he's no more of an asshole than Heatley (but i'd still take it for a gold)

There isn't to many players in the league that can equal the number of suspensions Pronger has, what's he up to now, 5 maybe 6? And just about everyone of them has been for a head shot. Just a goofball with skill, if he was a Laraque or a Bougarrd he would have had a lot more.

You'll never see Pronger goon a guy his own size. I just don't believe him to be a good representative of Canada or deserve a spot because of his dirty hits and attempts to injure. He has all the skill needed to be a truly great player, but he never will be because of his actions on the ice. (The fact that he was banging the news chick in Edmonton and his wife made him move because of it, doesn't enter into this view)
