Do you guys really think that Anson Carter of the Vancouver Canucks is going to be signed? Well I really don't think so. Look at their cap room. They have about 8 million left, which the still have to get a winger to play with Nazzy and Morrison, and plus they still have to get at least one more defenceman, and some bottom six players.

So with all that in mind do you really think they will sign him? This is just one mans opinion. (Remeber Dave Nonis wants to stay within 2 million of the cap)

lets see under 2 million a season yes anything more bye bye anson.. get your stuff ready I'm driving you to the airport.

i agree. I heard he wants somewhere in between 2.5-3.0 million a season. If he doesn't get signed, then he is probably going to Toronto.

I think old Anson should remember that his "Comeback" season had a lot to do with his twin brothers last year. If I were him. I'd take a 2 m deal and stay put with the only guys he's been effective with in his whole carrier.

Hell, we'll take him. Ottawa's team is gonna be screwed this year anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

He has a breakout year with the Sisters who had chemistry with him and now he thinks he can get 2-3 million a year. Unbelievable. How about putting the same numbers as last year up for say 3 years in a row and then we'll talk.

[huh]

lol....you have never heard that about the Sedins b4? Might be a West Coast thing. Yes the Sedins.

Arctic_Menace @ Thu Jul 13, 2006 11:34 am

I've heard of the Sedins, but I did not know that people called them sisters...

TonyCanuck @ Thu Jul 13, 2006 11:36 am

They are not exactly the most physical players in the world.....someone started calling them the sisters a few years ago as a result and it caught on here in Vancouver.

People from Toronto think everyone wants to go there and they also think they're going to win the Stanley Cup, but we all know better........

Are we thinking about the same Anson Carter?

Anson Carter stats:
2002-03 - Oilers/Rangers - 26 G, 34 A
2001-02 - Oilers - 28 G, 32 A

http://www.nhl.com/players/8467964.html
Mike Comrie stats:
2002-03 - Oilers - 20 G, 31 A
2001-02 - Oilers - 33 G, 27 A

http://www.nhl.com/players/8460496.html
Ryan Smyth stats:
2002-03 - Oilers - 27 G, 34 A
2001-02 - Oilers - 15 G, 35 A

The significance of this, of course, is that these three players spent most of these two seasons playing together on the Oilers' top line (excluding the portion of 2001-02 when Ryan Smyth was out with a broken ankle).
