Well, since the site was down since the 20th I didn't have a chance to set this topic up so better late than never.

The annual tournament got started on the 26th with the following countries participating:

Group A
Canada
Finland
Germany
Latvia
Sweden (hosts)


Group B
Czechia
Norway
Slovakia
Switzerland
USA

So far Canada is 2-0

   

Our guys were beat today by Sweden, who have a really good team, and I won't be shocked if they win the gold this year.

   

A fairly good tournament though it seemed to me to have a lot of penalties, especially major ones. Are the players that much more aggressive this year or are they cracking down more often on offences? There were some scary moments with players getting hit from behind more often than I recall in the past.

Quarter finals are on Tuesday.

Finland vs Slovakia
Czechia vs Canada
Latvia vs USA
Switzerland vs Sweden

Germany and Norway to play the relegation round.

The Canada game will be at 530am our time so I doubt we'll get up that early but... maybe

   

   

Sadly, our guys checked out in the quarter-finals...

However, moving forward the medal games tomorrow will be:

Czechia vs Finland for Bronze
Sweden vs USA for Gold


I'm still predicting Sweden will win Gold as they have an awesome team this year.
