When you hit a level of NHL you are a role model for all the kids coming up through the ranks. Kids in all levels have to sign a contract of fair play and sportsmanship...this guy is a POS that should never had made it that far....I want to see him on the Beer league circuit and ring his bell...

The NFL suspended Pacman Jones for the better part of this year because he got in a fight with his own bodyguard in a club. That was a long ways away from the game.
I like their get tough policy they have in place now, before if you screwed up you just got traded to Cincinnati.

I think Plaxico's pretty much done. The NFL's insanely competitive and the high level of talent is incomprehensible. He's facing a minimum 3+ years in the joint. Even if he beats it, by the time he sorts out his legal troubles, he'll have been replaced by half a dozen other guys.

Stuff like this is representative of the decline in society generally. In the days before free-agency and multi-million dollar contracts for 20 year olds, you didn't see this kind of shit. Atheletes had some self-discipline. And if they didn't, their teams did.
I saw the Giant's coach on TV today, and the guy was going on and on about how disappointed he was, how sad it was, etc. I don't think Bear Bryant or Lombardi would have been so sappy if any of their guys had pulled shit like this. They'd have ripped the guy a new one.
Imagine Joe Dimaggio saying the kind of crap about Marilyn Monroe the Avery did?
Jim Brown was one of the fiercest running backs of all time, but I don't recall him ever taking his "nine" to a nightclub and blowing a hole in his leg.

A classless fellow and certainly not a gentleman. He has the right to speak as he pleases, and the league has the right to suspend him for such behavior. Let's hope he cleans his mouth and mind up a bit.
