I tell you one thing. The leafs had better be fire sale sellers and they had better pick up high draft picks. I'm still not over losing 2 first rounders. Finishing dead last would have been an absolute joy knowing that the entry draft for the leafs will have been the most exciting to watch in a generation not to mention the good chance of picking up our own Crosby or Ovechkin.

So, will my Canucks do their usual at the deadline...absolutely F-in nothing?...

DerbyX @ Tue Mar 02, 2010 6:07 pm

Perhaps they are hoping Luongo will pull a Patrick Roy and win a Stanley Cup for a team that doesn't deserve it?

Canucks' Mathieu Schneider traded to Phoenix....

Details of who is returning to Vancouver in the deal are still unknown, but it is believed to be a draft pick.

Schneider, 40, was an unrestricted free agent signing by the Canucks last August. In 17 games on the West Coast, the New York native has two goals and three assists.

Ducks trade G Vesa Toskala to the Flames for G Curtis McElheney, Ducks clear a lot of cap

More to follow

According to several reports, the Calgary Flames have acquired goalie Vesa Toskala from the Anaheim Ducks.

In exchange for Toskala, the Ducks receive goaltender Curtis McElhinney.

Toskala never played for the Ducks, who acquired him from Toronto for Jean-Sebastien Giguere on Jan. 31. In 26 games this season, Toskala is 7-12-3 with a 3.66 goals-against average and .874 save percentage. He's due to become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

McElhinney, in his second full NHL season, had played just 10 games while backing up Kiprusoff this season, going 3-4-0 with a 3.23 GAA and .885 save percentage.

I think Toskala can do good here with some decent D in fromt of him, McElhinny sucked plain and simple, now they need to get Iggy a setup man with less than an hour until deadline is over.

Sounds like they exchanged a "sucker" for a "blower"

Thats possable too, matters not as we had no backup anyways. They should have tried to keep CUJO for another year. I do so hope theres a forward coming our way, maybe for Higgins or Hagman
