Canadian
When I happened to go into CTV's website earlier this afternoon I saw this article posted as "Breaking News". All I could think was only in Canada would something like this take priority over anything else happening either in Canada or Internationally. OMG! Stop the presses!
It's the history of concussions thing that makes this news.
The worry is, 'is this one career ending?' The concussion caused end of Sid the Kid's career would be front page coast to coast.
If we're just worried about the possibility though, maybe you're right. Maybe it's a little much.
Pittsburgh fans be like...
His career will undoubtedably be cut short. The question will be at what point he is convinced it is not worth risking any more damage, he is already set for life so this is about pride and personal risk. Tough to walk away from something you love and while still at the top of your game. He will be the Bobby Orr of this generation.
The Pittsburgh Penguins say superstar Sidney Crosby has been diagnosed with a concussion.
General manager Jim Rutherford made the announcement Monday.
The Penguins say Crosby sat out a preseason game Saturday against Columbus because he wasn’t feeling well and missed practice Monday to undergo concussion testing. They added that Crosby’s status will be updated when more information becomes available.
Pittsburgh opens the regular season Thursday at home against the Washington Capitals.
The two-time Stanley Cup champion and reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner missed significant time earlier in his career with concussion problems. The 29-year-old Crosby was the playoff MVP last spring, leading the Penguins to their fourth Cup in franchise history.

Man this is such bad news about Sid especially after the year he had. I'm thinking maybe he should consider hanging up his skates - his health is much more important than anything else. I was reading that once you have had a concussion - Sid has had 2 of them - even what appears to be light contact can induce another one. Don't get me wrong, Sid is my favorite player and the Penguins are my team. I would love to see him out there on the ice again but as I wrote, his health comes first.
I know it's Crosby, but one thread is enough.

Take the money and run. Delay the nursing home experience as long as possible.
