15 years ago we werent though. I'm a huge Canucks fan, I mean a huge Canucks fan. If I could remember 15 years ago when Edmonton won the cup I would probably say "SHIT! Vancouver didn't win it!" but if Ottawa won it (This year I mean), even if they beat Vancouver in the finals I would probably say "Well at least a Canadian team won! Yeah!"
I prefer 15 years ago.

Couldn't make the game, but we hit the tailgate party @ the Corel center on saturday. Man, what a great time! This town is PUMPED! I saw a sea of Senators flags on cars in a shopping mall last week, city fire-trucks are flying the colors, and the locals have gone a little nuts. THIS is Canada's home town. Hell, I paid for parking just to get some of that sens fever, and I got it BAD!
Slow starters, but awesome as the game goes on. I actually felt a little sorry for Philly on saturday (won't keep me up at night).
From the joke of the league, to a deadly serious contender for the cup in a few short years. The things this team does for the community would take a week to type. Wade Redden bought a box suite and donates it to underpriveleged kids for games, and he tried to keep it quiet. The list goes on...
Anyway, if you're on the sidelines, or your team got bumped, come on over! Cheer for a team that works for it & deserves it. GO SENS, we love ya!!!

I was in Tampa Bay last week and was at the game Scott Stevens got hit in the ear with the puck. That was the loudest NHL game I've ever been too. 
They may not know much about hockey down there, but they sure support their team. The tickets were VERY well priced too....$80 each for a seat 15 rows behind the Tampa Bay net! Try getting that one in Toronto.

I expect to get A LOT of grief over this because I'm a die hard Devils fan and have been since 1983. 
Many will think it's "not right" to want an American team to win the Cup. Just remember though....most players, no matter what team, have a Maple Leaf (and not a Toronto one) as their flag!
And if my Devils have to lose, I can't think of a better team to lose to than Ottawa.[font=Comic Sans MS] [/font]

Kind of how like Bud Selig cancelled the 1994 MLB season after 2 straight Canadian team World Series wins?
