I ask this as he is again the #1 vote getting for the All Star game. Why, isn't there a couple of better players to watch like Ovechkin, Lecavalier and Iginla. I am kind of tried of Crosby and all the fan fare. He is awesome, but I don't believe he is the #1 player in the league.

I agree with you. He is awesome, however I think there are a couple players that are more exciting. I don't know if there is a guy in the league that likes to score more than Ovechkin, that guy is always smiling. He is pretty funny too.

There is one think that Crosby has that Downie will not go near him. It is call George Larock. The retard Downie would get killed. There is a day coming for your Downie and then it will be ugly..He might smile again, but he will have no teeth....

just to see SOMEONE take out the great "sid the kid" will make it worth it... and for it to be a flyer espeically downie who is dispensable is just the prefect option

   

Downie won`t even see the ice when they play against Pitt. Crosby would score every chance he got.
Now back to what I asked. Isn`t there better players out there. I hear Luongo isn`t going to the All Star Game, something about family. Can you beleive an athlete choice family.

However, now other than the Canadian factor, Crosby probably isn't as good as Ovechkin and well Lacavilier is Canadian and that guy is a highlight reel and he is also an actual Complete player. Crosby still has a little work to do on D, but he will improve. I do think Crosby is good, but he will not be the next one and will, there will be a kid in a couple of years they say that about again. Tavarese in the OHL is unreal.

   

I think you need to see Crosby play live before you can call him average. I've seen him twice and everytime you think he's not doing anything, he'll jump out of the pack and do something wild. My nephew played against Tavares in October. They played him tough and he had fit and was tossed from the game in the 3rd period. He should be good, but he hasn't played one NHL shift yet.

   

First off, I didn't say Crosby was AVERAGE. That would be stupid of me or anyone for that matter. I am saying there are guys that are more exciting to see play than him. He is a Great Player and one of the best in the league, I just think there is alot of fan fare for him when there are guys that are more exciting. I will never take anything away from Sid the Kid, but he won't be the next Gretz and neither will Tavares. I don't believe that there will every be anyone like Gretz again, the league has change to a Stop Goals for a get goals league. I don't think anyone will get as many points in one season anymore, Goalies are the best players on most teams and back in Gretz days they weren't. Game has changed.

   

People shouldn’t have a problem with Sid, it’s the media circus that follows him around that gets fans cranky. On his swing through the Northwest it was funny watching the local media, covering the National sport media. TSN / Sportsnet had 2 or 3 camera’s each covering the Penguins arrival at their Edmonton Hotel. They seemed horrified that only a hand full of fans showed up to welcome Sid, there were more security guards than fans. But they still reported it as if we were like deer caught in headlights, at having the honor to see the Kid live. This is a case where you should shoot the messenger.

   

Not the best player right now. But he is amazing for his age and it is fun watching evolve into a better player every season. Plus he's a nice guy.

   

Other than Ovechkin or Kovalchuk there isn't any others that are more exciting to watch. Those three consistently have "Highlight of the Night" clips on the sports channels. There's others who have more points and goals but someone tipping a shot from the point isn't a highlight and isn't what people pay to see. They want to see someone dangle a defensemen or two then roof one. You have more chance of seeing that watching Sid than you would Lecavalier or Iginla.
