Over the weekend a calf was hurt at the 120 year old Cloverdale Rodeo and then put down (we call it "veal") and the heterosexually challenged liberal panty-waists donned in their sparkly tight designer jeans and hats and who wouldn't know a bailout from a spoke and who have infiltrated and now control the rodeo, responded with an outright ban on calf-roping, team roping, steer wrestling and wild cow milking.

Screw em.

They banned events? That's retarded.

sandorski @ Thu May 24, 2007 11:05 pm

Last I heard, it was the rodeo that banned calf roping after the incident. The other events I haven't heard about, but no Government law/regulation went into the calf roping ban. You might want to add something that supports your libral rant.

Try and keep up. The liberals control the rodeo and anyone who knows the sport knows Cloverdale was taken over by a bunch of brokeback urban wannabe cowboys a couple years ago who have been salivating for a reason to try and shut the sport down one rainbow at a time.

No thanks. Have enough problems without add paranoia to the list.

Scratch paranoia and add knowledge.

If you don't like the sport then fine that's your business. How would you feel if a bunch of heterosexuals infiltrated and took over your local gay pride association then shut it down?

Just provide a link backing up your assertions. Not too difficult, unless your assertions were just pulled from your ass.

A link to what? Even if Spielmacher himself put up a website and stated the board's objective was to shut down the rodeo you still wouldn't believe it.

The Cloverdale fair association has made it quite well known they wish to increase the weddings, concerts, trade shows etc and that the rodeo that is their bread and butter is more of an annoyance. Do you really believe that an association that had rodeo at heart would permanently ban four events within 24 hours of a calf getting hurt without any voting from the membership or input from those in the industry or any type of review whatsoever?

Yeah, the onus is sure on me to prove this ag fair association is pro rodeo

Perhaps they are not "Pro Rodeo", but that still proves none of your rantsih points. It's quite possible that the Cloverdale Rodeo just isn't viable anymore.

It is not a rant you just don't understand the situation and have probably never even been to a rodeo let alone heard of Cloverdale before. People who don't give a flying fig about rodeo and believe it is no more then animal cruelty now run that particular ag fair and regardless of the popularity or the gate receipts, they believe the rodeo should be phased out in favour of more concerts and big ticket international pride events. Wasn't it this board that boasted of Vancouver being in the top 5 for international gay travel?

BN sums up the typical new Canadian "man" who equates rodeo with excessive animal cruelty. It's probably not a stretch that in 30 years Alberta will be the last place in Canada you can get a tofu free burger.

The liberal agenda of the wussification of the Canadian male steams on.

There you go again. A rant is a rant.

Haven't been to a full Rodeo, but have seen some rodeo events. I've been to Cloverdale many times and live just 20 minutes drive from there. Rodeo isn't an indication of "manhood", that would be an English Joust and I doubt you've ever been to one of those. So spare us the rants about "manhood", "librals", yadda ya. Times change, get used to it.
