Depression possible?

Despite what is currently going on in Canada and the world economy in general and taking into account the timing of the baby boomers for some reason I'm still reasonably optimistic that we probably won't nosedive into recession.
Canada as a country as always been relatively conservative compared to the Americans and I think that is going to pay huge dividends in our current state. That is just my two cents.

NOT nosedive into recession? How would you call what we are in today?
Depression? no, I don't think so. Recession? Yes, we are. And it is gonna take at least a year (longer for the lower mainland, imo) to climb out of it...
