More Canadian programming promoted through out the US, and not just the Trailer Park Boys (even though that is my favourite show), something that could educate the rest of the "free" world on Canadian culture.

But here's the key, it has to look big budget...no Beachcombers-esque Canadian drama that makes us look more like the MacKenzie boys than a nation of intelligent, politically minded adults.

Substance and just a little fluff...that's what we need.

(That didn't sound like a cake recipie did it?)

You can't promote something intellegent in the US. It's impossible. It doesn't matter if it's Canadian or whatever, if it's not stupid and simple it'll never fly.

Besides, I'm pretty sure if the major American television audience was exposed to the idea that there was actually a world outside of the US, their heads would cave in and cause a massive tear in the space-time continium, creating a wormhole capable of turning the whole universe inside-out.

How exactly does providing the Americans with quality entertainment improve Canada?

Really want to improve Canada? Lets cut out these kinda garbage statements.

Not that I dissagree (because I actually agree wholeheartedly), but please explain 'Dead Like Me' or anything else on A&E for that matter.

By improving the reputation of Canada and it's people outside of our borders, via well produced and promoted Canadian programming (Yes, even powerful US political leaders watch TV), we improve our position in world politics...and then, we can take over the universe!

Muahahahahaha!!!

Sorry, I get a little carried away.

I don't really watch TV so I am unfamiliar with most TV oriented popular cutlure. But I do know that the bulk of what Canadians consume originates in the US.

You're a perfect example of why Canada cannot and will not improve. Always looking outwards and to the south rather than inwards.

Pay him no mind Yank. His political leaning "far left" says it all. If it is American then by definition it is either moronic or juvenile. They cannot abide the concept of self-sufficiency.

Oh lord. Dead like me?

I HATE THAT SHOW. My mother loves it for some reason, but it's so...

....Odd and lame. :(

And it kinda creeps me out that people actually thought of something like this and it actually got onto a television set. I think A&E must have lost a bet.

Mind your tounge good Sir...'Dead Like Me' is an excellent show, and the lead girlie is quite hot.

Yes, I admit it freely, I am an avid 'Dead Like Me' fan!

I have found a way to improve Canada by offering an affordable answer to lifes legal issues. Would you agree that our legal sytem is broken. Our lower income citizens can get public aid. Our high income citizens can afford lawyers and have them on a retainer. That leaves the middle 80% of Canadians left to deal with the high cost of legal help with few options. There is family plan membership for $26 a month that covers all areas of law. I beleive this as it has in Europe will revolutionize our legal system.

Im afraid that I have to disagree with that statement. The fact that Davinci's Inquest is now running on American stations such as the former UPN speaks volumes. It is possible to get smart intellegent programing onto American networks, the biggest problem is unfortunately once a program gets picked up by southern stations, we've long since cancelled it in favour of extended Juno Awards coverage.

BTW, NBC's Cold Case is based on a CTV orgional program that lasted all of one and a half seasons here.

Well maybe there isn't that much Canadian programming in the US. However, there are plenty of Candian actors in US programs. So to some extent, the Candadian is being exported.

The real issue is how to get the Canadian actors back home. It seems like the US is gonna get hit real hard with a late when we do return them.
