Quebecers are backwards. Truthfully I wont cry if they fuck off from Canada. Seriously, they're biggest welfare crybaby. If it weren't for Quebec, Alberta would be even richer. Canada would be better off. IMHO Alberta is a better political influence than Quebec ever was or will be.

Hello there Noob.

Let me ask you something, are you an immigrant yourself or son/daughter of an immigrant? Cause you sure seem to stand up for immigrants on other threads. And if so, please tell us where from.

Please respond to that before going any further.

Is CommanderSock that important?

I have a suggestion to make Quebec " go forward " :

send a few thousands Quebec immigrants to Alberta every year. We would then stop going backwards from day one.. Increase that number every year so we finally get more leaving than coming.

Anf then there will be more turbans than cowboy hats at the Calgary Stampede. Then more camels than horses .... and then hopefully Albertans will understand what Quebecers are going trough. And back up us instead of bitching us !

Let's save Quebec ! Mustafa go home !

Actually, it's funny that Commandersucks did not respond on this thread.

But I will say this, before making any Quebec bashing, it would be best that you have been here at least a few generations.

Quebecers were here on this land long, long before you were here. Plus, if you weren't such a Noob, I would tell you to go and take a look at some older threads. There is such a thing as Federalism in Quebec.

Quebec City being one of the oldest, if not the oldest city in Canada. We have been here since the foundation of this country.

Anyways, regarding immigration, It's cool that Quebec has the balls to stand up for it's own immigration. Apparently, Canada seems to let everyone in no matter what. That's why I have stated there should be a major overhaul in immigration policies.

Get us some people from Europe, like the good 'ol days. At least, they embraced this country and worked towards making it better, maybe that's all I should say regarding this matter. :D

Also, before I end this post. Let me say that I have nothing against Albertans. In fact, I would like to suggest a proposition: We will send Benoit to Alberta. In return, we want your hottest Albertan chick. That sounds like a fair trade to me, right!!! ROTFL

Guess what !! Marocco, Tunisia , Algeria will bring most of the AFRICAN immigrants along with some isolated cases in Rwanda, Ivory Coast and Senegal …

Almost all of these immigrants will end up in the Greater Montreal area !! Every year history repeats itself and more and more Muslims end up in Quebec and create these huge ghettos ! And then they ask and ask and push us to the limits !!

Yup. I read somewear that from now on Quebec will be the # 1 destination of emmigrants leaving the ex-French colonies. Seems like France has been fullen already.

As I know Quebec needs immigrants to keep the economy going on. At the same time Quebec wants it's new comers to fulfil some expectancies, and the main is being a francophone.
After the selection we get (mostly) former French colonies citizens. And they are predominately Muslim.

It's this kind of immigration or no kind.

Expecting than Europeans will come to Canada, like in the XIX century is an Utopia. The EU is doing a great job, and not so many people in Europe want to leave for Canada as they did. And every year there is less willing to do so. They have no economical reason. Would you leave home, for a distant, unfamiliar place?

But on the other hand there are people that are willing to do so because of the better life Canada offers, not economy. These are the people are a minority, and aren't looking for jobs that Canada needs immigrants for.

"We need them; they need us": this line of reasoning will not go very far.

Doesn't it?

France feels it has enough criminals and rioters....

Along this line of reasoning, we will meet racism as a more fundamental need than the capitalistic need for cheap immigrant workers.

Congio @ Mon Mar 24, 2008 10:31 am

What? I don't understand your way of thinking Benoit.

Or maybe I do... Are you saying that thinking that immigration is necessary provokes racism? If it that I disagree. Showing and understanding the inevitable teaches people to tolerate it.

Canada isn't facing racism I say. Canada is in a need of protecting in traditional values from Europe (Britain and France). Protecting heritage is called conservatism, not racism.

Nothing is inevitable in economics except when it is an economy at war. Racism (us vs them) will be used by conservative forces to win the war.

Congio @ Mon Mar 24, 2008 10:58 am

Conservatism can't win. It just can slow down the process.

Racism might be used, but it'll be just a reaction of a small group of radicals. People get radical when they see they are losing.

I'm not a specialist in economy, so I won't comment. All I can say is that immigration is a process containing economy, culture and politics. You can't look at it from one perspective. You must use all three.
