I don't make them, I just find and post them. :D
Rogers and the whole Canadian telcom industry needs a great big kick in the ass on this.

That was a great find, ridenrain, really funny :D Thanks for sharing it with us.

I just hope the average Canadian consumer is wise enough to know that he or she is making a difference and helping change Canada's telecommunication industry by not falling into the traps of Darth Vader..oops..I mean Rogers by signing a 3 year contract and buying an iPhone.

Look what they did for 13 years with the liberals.

To improve Canada, more content is needed, not the last gadget.

Where on earth did you get such a deal? Is this in Canada or somewhere in an imaginary Rogerless dream town?

I think he's with telus. I know we had a deal like that when we first came out with the unlimited data packages. a new customer now would have to pay 30 to get the unlimited data

$30 for unlimited data is not so bad. Too bad Telus is not on a GSM network. I like to be able to easily switch to a new phone by simply using my SIM card on another phone. Also having a world phone is an advantage for myself since I travel alot.

the blackberry 8830 is a world phone :)

but as for the regular phones just give it time.. theres a lot going on with the spectrum auction... a lot of which i dont really understand but there are definite exciting times ahead for canada's cellular world.

apple products are overpriced, underfeatured and have high failure rates

Definitely overpriced and underfeatured. But the only reason why I am interested in the iPhone (the only Apple product I would ever consider...so far) is for the fact that its got the best mobile browsing experience so far, the largest crystal clear touchscreen (3.5"), and the best hard surface touchscreen ever built for a mobile device (it's as if the application is right under your fingertips responding accurately to all your gestures. I have yet to see a more responsive cellphone).

Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend a Mac or PowerBook to anyone (pricey, expensive to repair, and the list goes on).

G-prime @ Mon Jul 07, 2008 10:36 am

i would hate a touchscreen, i have enouugh trouble keeping my normal cell phones tiny non-touch screen free of finger grease. its just one of those things that sounds good till you buy it, then you realize, neat or not, you could have done without it.
.Image

Not to mention if the screen cracks or breaks (something not hard to do) it costs about 200-300 bucks (depending who you ask) to get Apple to fix it. And if it does break, or if the battery has problems, you have to mail it to apple, you cant just go somewhere and get it fixed or replaced. A stupid touch screen is not worth it.

ALSO go to yahoo and do an image search of broken iphone and you get a whole wack of awesome pics.. some i'm fairy certain people smashed on purpose since DROPPING it couldnt do that kind of damage lol

newfette @ Mon Jul 07, 2008 10:41 am

i find the htc touch isn't bad but doesn't compare to the iphone. I think i'll be interesting to see how the htc diamond compares

Yeah, I had an iPhone 1.0 and I had to clean it after every use/call. It does get pretty annoying, but that's what we have to deal with when handling touchscreen devices...unless if you would like to always use a stylus instead of your fingers (I really hate using a stylus, another reason why I like the iPhone).

That's always one of the downsides of owning any Apple product...specially if it's an iPod or an iPhone.

When it comes to other alternatives, I came close to buying the Samsung Omnia i900, http://samsungomnia.com/. It's got a great large touchscreen, high end features, running Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro and a special customized Samsung interface to hide that ugly default Windows Mobile interface. Sadly, the phone is sold for almost $900. But it certainly got my attention.

G-prime @ Mon Jul 07, 2008 11:59 am

samsung makes pretty good products but ouch 900 bucks. maybe its cause im broke, but it seems that cell phones cost WAY too much concidering people get a new one every year or two. (i had my first cell phone for 3 years and it broke, but it was cheap so i didnt care..in fact i was suprised it lasted that long lol)

From Telus, they always have great specials on at Christmas, I am one of the lucky few who got it. I have many friends who want my plan.
