Why is it so expensive to live in Canada compared to the U.S

Btw, there is no "anti-America" sentiment in Canada. There is an "anti-bullshit" sentiment tho.
You are fooling yourself. That is like saying there is no Anti-Canada sentiment in America. Doing a simple google or youtube search can prove that to be wrong.
I have experienced bias here in Canada.

We will just have to disagree.
Does $7.25 get you unlimited health care? Does it get you out of being drafted? Does it provide subsidy to education at a rate over 60% of the cost?
Also if you are only making min wage, then you never compleated highschool, can't speak english, or are addicted to drugs and can't hold down a job. Or you just don't care and want an easy job.
No experince, but wil show up for work, $17/hr in Edmonton, and it's not all physical labour.

I think it pays to research stuff like this before you move.
I did research for a year before the move. The price of cheese was the least of my worries. I reject those whom say you can learn everything about Canada on the internet. Some things you have to experience first hand.
Well I guess that is true for somethings. A month before I left to live in Florida I read the local paper, got to find out quite a bit about the community I was staying in.

Of course you have. But is that a bias towards Americans or towards bullshitters?
Youtube is your source? Seriously?
Darlin', you can find wingnuts on every corner of the globe, morons and the internet go VERY well together.
Have you ever encountered "anti-American-sentiments" in your face? I highly doubt that.

What are you talking about and what does that have to do with this thread?
Never mind, I am done. I only come here to get some information, and all I am getting is my balls busted for no good reason.
For some reason I have seemed to really get under some of your skin, when all I have been trying to do is learn.
I hate to say it but maybe we can go a little easier on the new guy, he hasn't spent the weeks of lurking most of the other 'good' newbies have had. BCme I can understand your concerns, maybe if ya gave this thread a break and posted on some of our others some more; the rest will then see you're not such a bad guy.

Not anymore, 10 years ago I did. Well to be honest a dollar over it.
I'd rather make 10 dollars in Canada than 7.50 in the US. If only for the health care costs.

You said you would be better off making 30% less in the US than you are in Canada. I don't agree and pointed out some facts.

I'll try to make this as nice as possible. I don't mean this to sound rude but in my opinion you're coming off as kind of a complainer. There is obviously a reason you moved to BC, it certainly isn't for the prices. However coming to this forum to basically complain about the prices compared to the states comes off whiny. We know the prices are different, I even gave you a couple reason which you seemed to ignore. We don't like the price gouging that goes on, especially when it's an American company that charges 25% more for it's products here than in the U.S. There are some things you can't get away from unless you want to purchase all your goods in the U.S. Alcohol is taxed out the ass, that's a fact, so are ciggarettes. Dairy is controlled by a marketing board, this is the third time I've posted this.
We also have 33 million people compared to over 300 million people in the States, that's just simple economics.

Well it does cost us a lot less to protect ourselves from the bad guys.
In the USA, for a family of 4, it's...
...4 carry and conceal permits
...4 handguns
...a few spares at home
...3 rifles (the youngest is still too small to use one) and shotguns
...bullets........... lots and lots of bullets
...training and practice for everybody
...coming to Canada and not being able to carry, priceless!
In Canada, for a family of 4, it's...
...2 hockey sticks
...assorted kitchen utensils
...a few cans of maple syrup
Syrup in a can?

It's worth paying more... just to get to live here.
Anybody who says different, can just GTFO!
