Today, the 1st Sunday In May is remebered as the Battle of The Atlantic memorial day. It marks a time for all to mourn those lost at sea during the battle of The Atlantic. Mostly Canadians who sailed with the convoys from Bedford Basin on the east coast to bring much needed supplies to Murmansk and England, and who not only had to fighht off the dreaded U-Boats but the firece North Atlantic winter weather too. Ice and cold and gales that had wave as tall as a 4 story house come crashing down on them
Time to take a moment to remember those brave souls
