China is influencing and undermining Canada and its democratic system. Canada China relations are tense, following the arrest of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou, and China's hostage diplomacy that targeted two Canadian citizens, Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, who have been in Chinese detention for almost two years. China has also sentenced several Canadian citizens to death inside China. But China still is trying to get Canadian officials on its side, called Elite Capture. Joining me today is Garnett Genuis, a Canadian federal parliament member and shadow minister for multiculturalism and Canada-China relations.

Notice how despite the urgings of the China hating host, you could see Garnett Genius roll his eyes and and respond quite civilly to the Trudeau baiting questions? Naivety, not commie simp corruption, inconsistent response not Chinese plants in the Canadian government.
And as is typical of youtubers who claim to be journalists, Genius is NOT a "Minister" of Parliament, he's an MP the Opposition critic.
I hope the ignorant Americans who watch it see how politicians should behave.
I do like that channel but you do have to keep in mind the clear bias in his China "truths". As you do watching the flood of Indian propaganda on YouTube.

You're correct, but I'm speaking of the way 90% (american) of his viewers would see it.
Thinking Opposition critic "Minister" is of significant importance and China and the CCP are the same thing.
Probably in the same way many Chinese think the belligerent bullshit of the CCP is what the guy standing next to him is endorsing.

A shadow minister in a government in waiting opinion has a great deal of weight. There is a very real possibility the Conservatives could defeat the Liberals very soon. So that would be a very legitimate voice to be heard.
