France says it will Nuke terrorists.
Reuters Reuters:
reuters.com BREST, France (Reuters) - France said on Thursday it would be ready to launch a targeted nuclear strike against any state that carried out a terrorist attack on French soil.
In a speech defending France's costly nuclear deterrent and toughening policy against terrorism, President Jacques Chirac said Paris must be able to hit back hard at a hostile state's centers of power and its "capacity to act".
"The leaders of states who would use terrorist means against us, as well as those who would consider using in one way or another weapons of mass destruction, must understand that they would lay themselves open to a firm and adapted response on our part," Chirac said during a visit to northwestern France, where France's nuclear submarines are based.
Why is Chriac saying this
now? Has he heard something???

maybe a few countries need leaflets dropped from the sky reading Chiracs words . It might get citizens in an uproar and start civil fighting and bring people like Osama out of hideing to protect their own safety .

If France is strapping on a pair then there's got to be a good reason for it. France doesn't get all in a huff unless the problem is so bad that they can't run away. surrender. or collaborate first.

Hey.... The americans have 10 000 to 30 000 lbs bombs.
The French are not gonna spend their money on new oversized bombs. They are gonna use those mini-nukes and thats the end of it. Its just that went you say nuke, people tend to listen better.
just my thought.

It wasn't that long ago that the Yanks were getting down on the French; all that Freedom Fries crap and everything, dumping their French wine. Maybe they're gonna nuke New York.
just look at history, the french roll over.
then ask the world for help, but don't help the world...

Hummm... I didn't read anything about-> French asking for help... A
France has had its fair share of terrorism. They are simply sending a firm warning to whom ever wants to pay them a visit.
And fig... the US were laughing at the French (and Germany) because they were saying the Iraq did not have WMD. Now Bush has appoligize for the lack of WMD in Iraq.

Of course, it seems the Euros are starting a new hornets nest over Iran and WMD.
Wouldn't it be a kick if Iran turns out to have
Iraq's nuclear weapons?

I'd hate to see what a few of those european countries could do if they got right pissed off . I think germany still has the highest concentration of army per capita and some of them would spend big to make a point .
We don't need WW3 but what we really need is everyone to lay down their arms especially the US . Its a bad example to use military power to dominate for oil or protect defend and liberate those in need ,there are other ways and the world has to realize their resources and help to other nations , decently and willingly.
I just don't see the rational behind freetrade agreements and the likes of it because we already hashed out that productivity and money has to come from somewhere ( comparisons of resource for another just doesn't make any sense because the value is accounted for regardless of either or , and values can change quickly )
Wars are all started in the name of the gap between the haves and have nots , want and want/need more . Wealth has very little to do with whether any country is a have or have not .

the above could easily be a statement of war mongering . this war game between nations has gone on far too long something has to give along with the mostly lies which welcome them .The bitter truths might even start wars faster because of its recognized irrationalities and anything the US or anyone else has used to butter them up , especially media. No war today has been carried out without enormous irregularities

Why the US in particular? Maybe it's time to remove the rose-colored glasses!
