More like a patsy of the Russians. I think he started Wikileaks from a desire to do good in the world, and the Russians took advantage of that.

Whether or not he is a dick should not be relevant. This guy has had to live like an animal in a cage for years now. Why you ask? Because he embarrassed the U.S. government. For that cardinal sin he became America's most wanted. All these charges against him are total bullshit. The U.S. government schemed with Sweden to get the ball rolling with that whole "sex by surprise" horseshit. This prosecution is the biggest rail job I have ever seen. They are blaming this guy for everything but the Kennedy assassination. This guy is getting screwed for actually doing what a journalist is supposed to be doing. It goes to show the sorry state of affairs that the journalistic world is in that we are not hearing a peep from the MSM while this guy gets royally screwed.
If the U.S. government can get away with railroading some non U.S. citizen who has never set foot in the U.S., just imagine what they can do to American journalists. The media had better wake up and pull their heads out of their asses.

Assange isn't a journalist. Journalists have a code of ethics they operate by and Assange has repeatedly shown he has no ethics at all. He's a Russian agent who probably got a lot of people working with the US in the Muslim countries murdered by the reckless way he didn't redact their names from the documents he was leaking. Assange is a mental case who was raised in a demented cult as a child and he's behaved in a dangerous manner his entire life as a result.
And he's never leaked documents relating to atrocities committed by either Russia or China, only relating to the intelligence activities of the Western countries. Assange is a miserable fucking spy who used the cloak of journalism to do the bidding of Vladimir Putin and anyone who still believes otherwise is a fucking fool.

He may be a fool but the zeal of his persecution belies intent. The precedent established on the international stage as it pertains to the trade of journalism will be marred forever. Elites on either side of the hemisphere are cheering on his imprisonment. We should pause and consider why that really is.

That would have required honest investigative work, to get ahold of Russian or Chinese documents. But that requires the belief that Wikileaks was ever an honest enterprise, which it wasn't. It's not like Assange's Russian contacts, like Holocaust-denier Israel Shamir, would have provided him documents about what Putin's been doing over the last twenty years. Why would then when their Wikileaks operation exists solely for the purpose of attacking Western governments only?

It's a whistleblower only. Someone feeds it documents anonymously, Wikileaks leaks them. It's in the name.
They can't leak what no one uploads.

But they can dump, just before the 2016 election, a mess of Clinton-related documents mere days after Trump asked them to at a press conference. Now who else but Vladimir Putin was best served by that considering that a POTUS Hillary Clinton would have stood up to them while Vlad's favourite catamite Trump has done absolutely nothing to thwart them, even after it's been revealed that Russia is paying terrorists bounty prizes for every American soldier they kill in Afghanistan.
One plus one is two. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. That, and Julian Assange obviously being an Russian operative, are three basic facts that can't ever be "revised".
