Then how is it a secret?

Double post, sorry.

You have to love this.

This is all the US and its allies need at the moment, while fighting two major wars in A'Stan and Iraq. I wonder what Harper will do?

Anything "secret" that is conducted by governments IMO always released for two possible reasons. Either the press release was a form of provocation using a deliberate leak, or it's already been commenced weeks before, and just now "being held."

A great example is how we found out those F-117 Nighthawks were shot down in OP Desert Fox. The inherent flaw in their perfect "stealth" technology was when it was known that the enemies used cellular (microwave is it?) waves instead of regular radar, to detect and successfully shoot down an aircraft. I don't have the source where this came from, but it was a while back.

Considering our airlift capacity and our present deployment, there is little we could do.
Time for Isreal to do it's own dirty work.

This sounds like a mistake waiting to happen, and It could have serious ramifications..................

It certainly doesnt seem like the US knows what they are getting into with these talks and possible actions. I find it scary at what COULD happen if such an attack were to occur. Thier troops are way to thin spread to handle another war. They claim it wouldnt include invasion, but to me I would think that anyone who attacks your country WILL retaliate in every way possible. It would seem now is not a good time to be american, or british, or even a neighbour to the US. Ugh, not looking forward to the next year or so.

Don't you mean our dirty work?

There's not one sane person on this side of the planet who wants to see a nuclear armed Iraq.

And who do you think is next after Israel?

It is also impossible for Israel to do this...Anything Israel does no matter how justified is condemned by the international community...

ShepherdsDog @ Thu Apr 06, 2006 9:57 pm

like merely having the audacity to exist. Well for years, Israel been telling its detractors the same message and has persevered, so I guess, "Go fuck yourself", is still appropriate.

Doesn't seem to bother Israel. They have Mossad hit-men in every corner of the world killing people it deams to be a threat to Israel, and I never hear a peep about when they get caught and why they have Canadian passports. Oh they get a little toung lashing, but that's it.

Yeah, whatever.

A nuclear (Noo-cue-lar, for those Americans :-)) Iran is definately something no one wants but I'd say the world policeman is getting pretty thread bare. The UN is pathetic and Europe has it's head up it's ass as always.
I'm not a fan of Israel, but they do have experience with air strikes against nuclear plants, and it is definately in their best interest. You're right that they are on the UN shit list but that is a two sided story.

My bottom line is that no country gets unconditional support.
