In regards to the post which is locked but visible:

$1:
Attention: American Friends!!!!! Please read before posting
As our site grows............... we welcome our brothers and sisters from other countries with open-arms.

We welcome our brothers and sisters from other countries with "open-arms" though we will begin by asserting that Canadians are better informed than Americans.

$1:
On the otherhand, if you have come here looking to criticize the people of Canada, you may want to reconsider.

$1:
Americans scored the lowest. What does that say to you?

It says that you are willing to criticize without tolerating criticism.

While we may not all agree with the political views of many countries, including both the U.S. and Canada, please do not confuse geographic and demographic statistical knowledge with intelligence.

$1:
Once again, of the 9 countries, Americans scored the lowest. What does that say to you?

That possibly the educational priorities are different and they may not value a renaissance education like you do because exergenic forces demand knowledge specialization.

Which may explain why the brain drain goes to the US and not the other way around.

So, once again, thank you for coming to visit CanadaKA.net and feel free to post in the forums.

malcolm @ Sun May 16, 2004 2:06 am

RoyalHighlander

It is very hard to miss as it is the first topic(sticky) on the Politics/War Forum.

Warning Topic to Americans.

I don't know if you really want to delete it as it provides much comic relief.

$1:
please keep in mind, mnay Canadians know more about the United States than Americans do

Now is that all Americans or just a few of them because here it states that mnay Canadians know more than Americans do about the United States. That quantifies it as all Americans. Wow! I'm impressed.

We're just that good.

RoyalHighlander @ Sun May 16, 2004 4:46 am

LMAO Well buddy its not locked to start with and it was started in Nov 2002.. and there were folks banned because of some of the comments.. Any ways wet blanket.. youve made 5 posts here and all you do is complain... Whats your next target gonna be??????

malcolm @ Sun May 16, 2004 5:24 pm

First) This topic is locked you cannot edit posts or make replies

The above message is what I get when attempting to post on that topic. I suggest you register a non-moderator uname and attempt to post something to that topic. Any troubleshooting of the system is up to you after that if indeed it is not locked and at least it has been brought to your attention. Your statements bear no resemblance of relevancy to the fact that it does not allow me to post no matter when the topic was initiated.

Second) What's your point? You can generalize for some "appealing to the gallery".

$1:
youve made 5 posts here and all you do is complain

Please excuse me if I respond to a post without glowing sycophantism. Quite frankly the assertion of this topic is that the author of the other topic wants to criticize without being criticized. A poor public policy statement. Sorry if you cannot get that. THough rather than addressing the criticism as being potentially valid you have defended with a generalized criticism which is quite simply wrong and willfully fallacious.

Unless you can as the author of the orginal post has indicated:

$1:
please make certain you have proof to back your statements, as ignorance and hatred is frowned upon

These are the rules are they not.

So at this point you have claimed I have made 5 posts. Now six. And of those five posts all of them have been to complain. Well time to back up your statements with fact rather than "ignorance and hatred".

Post One:
$1:
You must admit it is reassuring.
Bush when talking to Mr Mercer stated:

Canada is America's favorite country to the North of us.

Or somethng to that effect.

Hopefully if there is any further squabbling between the two countries Bush will invade one of the other countries to the North of the US.

Post One
Please indicate the criticism of this post.

Post Two:
$1:
talkON Canadian Forums
http://etches.net/forum/portal.php

The regrouping of the now defunct Telus and Sympatico Forums.

Post Two
Please indicate the criticism of this post.

Now let's see you back up your assertions with proof.

Time to doctor your spin.

GWN_Ronnie @ Sun May 16, 2004 5:54 pm

AdamNF

Who the hell is this guy? Did i miss somthing?

Please to meet you. Hope you guess my name.

Ronnie

if you don't like something that's going on with this site just PM a mod

Thank you.

Actually it wasn't a life and death struggle. It was orginally meant to be a constructive criticism on an opening policy statement that was self defeating. It simply says: We must respect that each group of citizens are not the politics so don't call us Canadian names because you Americans are stupid and I have proof which you must also provide.(summarized)

But instead of getting a response that was based on the topic at hand of justifying why it was that the forum mangement would want to send that message, I got back a tainted character based reply.

So by the rules of the topic in question I asked the person resorting to character posting to back up the statements he made as required by the topic in question when making such assertions.

I didn't make the rules I was only told to follow them.

It would be interesting to see now if a topic gets deleted for following the rules.

GWN_Ronnie @ Sun May 16, 2004 9:07 pm

first off I didn't say delete this topic I said close it, as in no more replying

anyway, yes you are following the rules but if everyone here linked facts to everything they said this forum would be a mess

now since after being accused that 5 of your 5 posts were about complain, and you only posted about 2 that weren't I'm going to assume that your other 3 were you complaining . So that means RH missed by 2 posts. Who cares! this will happen all the time. His point was only that you seem complain a lot.

I'm not wasting my time looking through your posts to see if you were complaining or not because frankly I don't care.

So with all that said there is no need for you to be getting on the way you were because your just wasting your time by getting into stupid forums arguments that really prove nothing

Like I said before just PM the mod if you have a problem

RoyalHighlander @ Sun May 16, 2004 10:06 pm

GWN_Ronnie GWN_Ronnie:
Like I said before just PM the mod if you have a problem

Hello there.. Im the Mod here, can I be of help???

malcolm @ Sun May 16, 2004 11:19 pm

Well the other two were reactions to character personality hooks and I simply did not want to bother with mentioning responses against character attacks. That is redundent.

The ony one left after that is this topic header.

RH

Exactly why does the topic I criticized serve the goals of this forum?

malcolm @ Mon May 17, 2004 11:47 am

for my part anyways.

In the future I will show greater courtesy by addressing these issues directly to the moderators by way of Private Messaging.

Indelible @ Mon May 17, 2004 10:00 pm

ummmm....to be honest...i started with the same type of attitude but i caught on quickly. some people don't.

so what would happen if someone was required to read the rules of posting after they become a member? that might prevent all these useless threads and bashing posts....
i know that when i joined up i just clicked the last button and then started posting...

what do u think of this RH?

malcolm @ Mon May 17, 2004 11:39 pm

I did read the rules for posting.

That was the problem and those rules have been reviewed once it was noted that they were conflicting with the efforts of this forum to be an open an honest endevour.

Exactness is hard to apply to a social enviroment.

Everyone is a critic myself included. Though ultimately we should work for the benefit of the ones we address.

Indelible @ Wed May 19, 2004 5:06 pm

it has been a while since i joined, so my memory of the joining process is a little foggy....i just want to make sure my suggestion in the post before wasn't a stupid one b/c it already is like that.....

so could u refresh me?

where and when did u read the rules on posting?
