Can't Europe do something this time?

There's a good possibility that the EU will send in the Nordic Battlegroup if the violent situation would escalate further.

Oh yea, like that will happen. When has the 'nordic battle group' deployed to Kenya before? Kenya is outside the French sphere of influence in Africa so they won't be going in. I can't see the Swedes doing much there either given their lack of effectiveness in Afghanistan.
It's quite obvious Sweden has no thirst for true combat.
No disrespect intended but you're jingoistic comments about Sweden's military prowess in world affairs has no credible foundation.
Speak to me when you guys reach the front line in Helmand Province, until then your nationalistic posturing should be saved for next years World Junior Hockey tourney.

Brittain is also involved with the NBG in strategic desitions. You don't seem to understand european politics anymore and you don't realize where the EU is heading. This wasn't a nationalistic rant. The most realistic outcome regarding European involvment would be to send the NBG as it became operational just a few days ago and is intended for situations like these. I'm not thrilled about sending Swedish troops into harms way without listening to public opinion. Sweden is also a part of the European army as of now and can not be considered neutral. That's another issue which I find disturbing.
As for Afghanistan, there's no mandate for direct combat with the opposition forces but I know how sensitive you are about Afghanistan and that you like to play the coward card. Now you're saying that Swedish troops aren't capable of handeling operations like these yet the EU gave Sweden command over the fifth european army after Sweden proved it's worth in Kongo with the French who evidently were thoroughly impressed.

So everywhere there is violence we should go there, I don't think so, we should mind our own business and let these people fight their own battles, I am sick to death of us sticking our nose into other peoples business. What happens inside a nations boarders is up to the people of that country to solve. As say in Afghanistan where the nation attacked one of our allies either by direct or indirect actions we reserve the right to do what we want but not in Kenya or Iraq or Iran or wherever.
It has been said many times that a nation cannot withstand dictatorship if the will of the people turns against it and the Soviet Union is a prime example of that being true

For the opinionated children here who are partisan but lack intellectual honesty----it is necessary to remind that the Kikuyus were the MAU MAU of the fifties..........

Although Kenya is more politically sophisticated that most black African countries----civilization is a very thin veneer---tribal savagery is always bubbling just below the surface.

Well said sasquatch that was a point I was trying to make, and the Mau mau thing I had forgotten about. If we decide to get involved in every tribal conflict we would be fighting everywhere including the streets of our country at times lol

Exactely! Good thing here is that the LIBRANOs only riot in parliament and on the net and media when they lose an election. Perhaps Kenya needs more internet forums.

I agree to some degree. But let's remember WWII and the complacency of some countries to get involved in the “internal” affairs of other countries. I am not saying that the Kenya crisis will evolved into anything bigger. But I wouldn’t make the blanket statement that we should simply turn a blind eye to events going on around us.

Yet this is EXACTLY what the America haters want America to do.

So then they can blame us for not doing anything.
