Krugman: No such thing as ‘Islamofascism’

TheFoundersIntent TheFoundersIntent:
If Krugman really believes there is no Islamofascism, then he's an ignorant fool. The objective of the Islamofascist is not only to make Islam the sole religion of the world, but to exterminate anyone who does not embrace it (like the Nazis exterminating the jews).
But that's not fascism, at least not in the classic sense. The German variant as practised by the Nationalist Socialists party in Germany in the post WW1-era was different in some key respects from its other continental counterparts.
The Nazi preoccupation with race and purity was not shared with the fascists in Italy, Spain, or Hungary (to name a few). Fascism is mainly concerned with economic matter and subordinating the masses to the will of the state.

You think that mass exterminations qualify one as fascist? It's a little more complex (propaganda, militarism, leader cult, corporatism, nationalism) than that, but hey, you go on calling other's "ignorant fools" and we'll smirk at the irony.

Good points by Krugman all around. I'd like to know at which exact moment in history (Sept 11 notwithstanding) that the contemporary United States became the exact opposite of what FDR spoke about, and that is when Americans became the easiest people on the face of the planet to provoke into unthinking, illogical, and over-the-top hysterical terror.
The Greatest Generation us modern folks certainly ain't.

It got worse as soon as televisions came.
BAD THING COULD HAPPEN!!! WORSE PICTURE ON SCREEN!!! THIS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU
TODAY!!!!
The greatest generation had communist panics in the 50's, so I think the change happened quite a while ago. FDR interned the Japanese because they might be "disloyal", and Abe Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus during the civil war.
If you want to look at it, the revolution was born out of that. TAXES! REVOLT!!!! was basically how it worked. No thought as to how they would consolidate afterwards, they just wanted out of the "oppressive" thumb of taxes that ended up that high anyways.
Krugman is a tool that works for the NYT's and has as many balls as Rosie.
