At least an attempt to put ordnance on target is being made. Minimizing innocent casualties is considered. When technology gets better so will the aiming. As for Saddam and people like that, he didn't consider civilian casualties one little bit. Even if he had high tech.
Fred, Germany and Japan had no choice in adopting democratic institutions. They surrendered unconditionally. Iraq was invaded until the regime fell and then occupied. There was no surrender, the shooting has just slowed somewhat.
Now the murderous scum are turning upon their own citizens for having the courage to participate in an election. That proves they are only interested in getting power for themselves, not for the benefit or welfare of the people.
The WTC attack was aimed at civilians with the purpose of killing innocent people as possible. The plane didn't just "crash" into the building. It was purposely guided into it. It was planned and conducted by a terrorist organisation with that aim in mind. So yes that is terrorism and it is evil. Those 9,000 Iraqi civillians were not the intended recipients. BIG difference. dgthe3 is right about the collateral damage. We don't do it today because of high tech and the realization that it is hideously wrong, but don't think the western world wouldn't pull it out again if it becomes a matter of survival like WWII was.

Yes you are right it is a difference, terrorists purposely killed over 3,000 innocent Americans. The Americans did not, and when they did kill innocent civilians they did it accidentally. The WTC attack was one of the most horrible brutal acts I have ever seen in my life and it was all caused on purpose. But it in no way makes it ok which I am sure you know. Killing is killing no matter what did it, both horrible acts are outrages and terrible but the U.S should be reducing the deaths of Iraq's by a lot. If one innocent Iraqi dies and one innocent American dies what is the difference? Nothing, maybe what caused the two deaths has a difference but the overall way I see it is that killing is killing. SprCForr, in my opinion it’s not an entirely a big difference because all people in this world are equal. I am not implying at all that Americans are terrorists, I am just pointing out that two wrongs don’t make a right and the U.S should reduce the death of Iraqis.
If you want to prevent terrorism look at what has been going on here at home, what have you been doing America? You have been increasing deaths of Iraqi civilians, and that I believe is what Terrorists are doing as well. So that is where you can see the similarities and that is where it should be changed.
