This is terrible chit.

First, all the people he was representing will need new lawyers and that mean more proceedings and more tax dollars being spend on nothing.

Second, it is unbelievable that the police would not afford him protection after receiving three calls like that. Are they not doing it out of spite - because he is a defense lawyers? Unacceptable.

Third, the voice on the tap sounds to me like a white man trying to pass himself off as a black man. It is racist. it wouldn't usrprise me at all if it were a police officer who made the calls.

He was right to say this is a terrible day for democracy in Canada. Do I think this guy he was representing is innocent? Hell no. He trained in terrorist camps. I would sever his head. But he is a Canadian citizen and terrorist or not he has the right to a fair trial and this means no chit like this.

I am revolted.

   

Galati says he takes this threat seriously because the same voice threatened one of his clients. That client then disappeared. He has also said that feels it is someone in the US intelligence community making the threats. That wouldn't surprise me in the least, in fact I would kind of expect it.

   

If it was someone in the US intelligence agency(Now there's an oxymoron.) I wouldn't worry about it. They haven't been able to get Castro, Saddam, Mohmmar or Osama, to name a few they've been after. What makes him think they'd be able to assassinate him?

   

The fact that CSIS nad the RCMP would help?

The thing is that Rocco took it seriously and one of his clients is already missing, possibly dead. This is a serious blow to democracy.

   

Yes. It is a blow. And it, from what we have heard, was struck by the US, the same people who have struck so many blows against it; the people who are sending Canadians off to be tortured in third countries because it suits their whims. Let us not forget this.
