He's been sentenced to death. Not that he shouldn't die for what he did, but think of the violence this will cause, it will be Iraqi civil war. Commute his sentence, so he dies of old age in prison.
Or, perhaps the surge in violence is the US's 'exit stategy'.

Once the decision is made there should be little media attention maybe not even when or where . People just want entertainment . satisfaction and proof are just secondary , but personally I think a few hundred hangings of leaders and the corporate monsters who back them might get more results than one nutcase .
Put yourself on the gallows pole and tell me about how much media attention it is worth .

Well speaking as a dirty lefty, I can say for myself he won't be missed and I hope they bury him deep.
That being said, at this point in time, it's not going to change anything except to possibly make Saddam a martyr.
