"They came for the communists, and I did not speak up because I wasn't a communist; They came for the socialists, and I did not speak up because I was not a socialist; They came for the union leaders, and I did not speak up because I wasn't a union leader; They came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak up for me." Paster Martin Niemoller.
Should we let this happen again?
Give me your thoughts on this quote..
Well, they can get rid of unions all they want, because all they do is encourage people to be lazy (but seriously, I do really hate unions).
But that statement has a lot of truth in. Just because somethings don't affect you personally, it doesn't mean you shouldn't stand up for or against it, so long as you feel it is the right thing to do.
Everyone has a cause, pick yours and stand up for it. But be supportive of others if it is the right thing to do.
In war situations, you should know what is right and wrong. So it is just a matter of doing something to prove it.
OK, I'm new here ...so feel free to give me your opinions........
1) As for the Union statement....I can even find the words to discribe how wrong I feel you are.....
Perhaps you would prefer to go back to the 30's and be worked to the ground and get paid dick squat for all your hard work...or perhaps you would prefer to virtually be owned by your employer...If thats how you feel I'm sure Irving is hiring somewhere...
As for the actual topic...there is nothing more important then remembering our humanity..and that is what it all boils down to.
Black ,white ,red, brown,christian,Jew,sikh......the commen denominator is we are all human and we all should support each other..love of our fellow man is one of the most important things in the world.
whoops, forgot to login....thats me up there.
heheh seems too be a common thing. I made it so User Info block on the left side of the site shows your avatar when logged in. Maybe make it a bit easier too notice if you are logged in.
read that quote again folks, slowly and carefully. Its not anti union at all... Its from a man who lived in Germany when the nazi's took power and about what he saw. He meant that he stood by and said nothing when they got rid of the unions leaders, he stood by and did nothing when they took the others, and his point was he said nothing and once all were gone who was left to speak up for him
ok the Union thing was directed to Malice(I have got to learn how to use the quote things) I understood the quote just not very good at speeky da engleesh![/quote]
