Burning down the Prime Ministers' residence is counter productive. It actually belongs to the people, and the people will pay to rebuild it.
But I bet it felt good to watch it burn.

Not really. Grecians stopped paying their taxes because they refused to fund the corruption of their governments. Sri Lankans didn't have any money, also because of the corruption of their government, but it was the incompetence of the government and giant tax cuts that torpedoed the economy and made it unsustainable.
