Streaker Streaker:
Does US policy embrace peacekeeping or multilateralism? No.
So? Neither does a lot of other countries. Are we going to become their puppets? Are they Americas? No.
$1:
Canadian policy used to. But now our government seeks to ingratiate itself with the Americans by embracing a self-destructive, disastrous American policy, and discarding an honoured Canadian tradition.
Where is that proof? I don't see us embracing American policy, but trying to change our identity to what it was many years ago, when people in this country actually had a pair.
$1:
Do you see Harper criticising the Americans over Iraq?
No. But he doesn't need to. What would we possibly gain from Harper being an asshole? Not very diplomatic.

$1:
No, but you do see him doing their bidding in Afghanistan, pathetic Uncle Tom that he is.
How in hell are we doing their bidding? What kind of warped logic is this. They were attacked, we helped. Canadians died in that attack too. Are we taking a bigger load because of the war in Iraq? Of course. But that doesn't mean we are being their bitch. It means other countries aren't stepping up to the plate. It's something to be proud of.
$1:
If it makes you feel any better, take solace in knowing that the Liberals can take their share of the blame for all this, too.
The liberals did the right thing for both the Afghanistan war and the Iraq war.

$1:
If we had gone into Iraq we'd have become an even more of a US tool, of course, but that doesn't mean that we haven't become one by going into Afghanistan.
No we haven't. If you don't understand the agreement that our countries, and all the other countries in NATO have, that's your problem. The USA was attacked unprovoked. We are obligated as an ally, as a friends, and as their neighbour to go help them kick some ass. We are even more obligated then say Germany or France just because of our relationship with America.

Tricks Tricks:
The key here is that it was a response to American pressure. Perhaps that's why our soldiers are (according to the article) kicking down doors and handing out candy bars instead of doing more useful things.
If you believe this article, you are gullible.

Tricks Tricks:
It is a laugh. Joke's on you.
You seem to be the one thrashing now.

Tricks Tricks:
Still splitting hairs, I see.
So you equate Bush with America?

Tricks Tricks:
Is this a tacit admission on your part that Bush is a prick?!? My god, man - there's hope for you yet! :!:
I've always thought Bush is a prick. But at least I don't generalize the entire country after his actions like you and the rest of the America haters on the board.

Tricks Tricks:
Do you believe that US foreign policy is a success and that it is in the Americans' best interest to continue pursuing it and ours to embrace it?
Let me rephrase this then, why do you think shedding our Peacekeeping name would we embrace US foreign policy? What proof is there of this?

Streaker must be part of that "PEACE ALLIANCE" thing.

He makes all the right noises.
