Somebody please give me their opinion on this article!

It's from the latest edition of Time Magazine (Canadian version)

I personally was appalled at this gentleman lack of knowledge or understanding. The fact that he thinks the US is as close to God as can possibly be astounds me!

They went into Iraq without the worlds backing and flattened it. Now they want the world to pitch in and help rebuild it. Who saw THIS coming?

Speaking as a Catholic, all the God refrences are really disgusting.

$1:
And yet the Security Council that accepted without question the legitimacy of the Saddam thugocracy gives lukewarm, hands-off treatment to the most representative Iraqi delegation ever to address that august body.

How can they call this the most representative Iraqi government when just as with Saddam's "thugocracy", they were appointed by the US?

$1:
There is no reason why American soldiers should be standing guard duty at a children's hospital (where three G.I.s were killed in a grenade attack in July). That can be done by others and would free up the U.S. military to do what it does best: hunt down the remnants of the Baathist regime and confront their foreign terrorist allies.

If that's what they do best I'd hate to see them try something they're not very good at.

P.S. God does tend to every sparrow.

The whole article is a load of crap. Put George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld in front of that hospital if you are short of guys, they started it. Let them catch a couple of grenades.

George is about to fire up the "with us or agin us" rhetoric again, just watch. He's feeling lonely, what with Tony being strung up at home and Howard going down in flames in Australia. Articles like these soften up the public for the speeches to come.

The UN should agree to help in Iraq when the US and their coalition of the bribed and bullied pull out and agree to pay reparations. That includes Haliburton, Bechtel, and any other war profiteers...get 'em out of there. Then send in the peacekeepers and create a truly democratic state instead of a government installed by Bush and his oil buddies.

I have to quibble with the theory of the US being able to win a war too...they seem to be getting killed on a pretty regular basis in spite of George's declaration of victory.

The US has already committed what, $500 billion to blowing up Iraq and its regime? Whats another 2 million or so to rebuild a country? They said they would rebuild now let them rebuild!!

I dont even want Canada to peacekeep in this one. If the UN comes in and cleans this up it will be like a child that pisses himself and isnt taught to use the bathroom. The child will continue to piss themselves till someone teaches them that its time to use the bathroom or else have the entire world have to put up with your stench!!!

Harsh but acurate I think.

Any thoughts?????
