Just finding out about this.

Reports of tanks moving into the capitol city but so far it just seems to be speculation as to whether or not the army is supporting Mugabe or his recently deposed vice president.

Ahh, the joys of schaedenfreud.

I guess the peasants finally had enough of starvation and decided that there was nothing left to lose?

Hang the fuckers! All of them!

Shame it didn't happen 40 years ago.

At the very least captain Bob needs put out to pasture, although the same thing that happened to kaddaffi should happen to this one.

Hopefully they can lure the whites and blacks they ran off and return the place to sanity and prosperity.

Now extract some real justice from him and the wife. Take them to the nearest brick wall and give them the good ol' Ceaucescu treatment.

The irony is, I heard on the radio a spokesman for the Zimbabwe Armed Forces saying that the President and his wife were being protected from harm, and were safe and secure.

I knew then that it was a military coup.

Zimbabwe upheaval: Army seizes power, holds Mugabe and wife in custody

Now, I wonder if Zimbabwe is better off under a military dictatorship or an incompetent dictatorship.

If they're lucky they'll have a man like Pinochet in the mix who will do what it takes to stabilize the country, remove the corrupt elements from society, and then orchestrate a peaceful transition to civilian rule.

But wait, this is Africa so what's to come will be an epic bloodletting as the new rulers kill off the opposition and mindlessly pillage whatever's left of the economy. :|

Wife is gone to Namibia.
No bloodlust for you. Sorry.

My guess they will 'officially' turn things over to the exVP, and a new crew
will come in and rape whatever pathetically small crumbs are leftover.

From DM...
Mnangagwa (pictured right with Mugabe), 75, nicknamed the Crocodile, has had a long and varied political career, leading at one point the justice, defence, housing and finance ministries as well as being the speaker of the lower house and spymaster.
University of London educated.

Nahh, this guy gonna be fine. :P
