Arctic..yes thats true. The same as every indigenous race, they have their land taken from them , they are driven out by us whites and looked down upon. Its a shame, sometimes im ashamed of what the white mans done. However, the true indigenous people of this land, the true aboriginal , would be ashamed of its people and their behaviour around the cities and towns, alot of it comes from poverty and alcohol abuse. The true aboriginals, the ones that still live off the land and follow their traditions, unspoilt by the white poulation and its evils, are truly inspirational and amazing people.... we could learn alot from their ways. Good and bad in every race, I know some white I wouldnt piss on.

   

You can say the same thing here about the native Indians. The ones you meet in the cities are totally different than those still living in the smaller towns and native communities up North.

the northern sataes are dominated by rugby...southern states and over west..aussie rules football is the go...

   

I'm down with all sports except for baseball. So slow and boring and frustrating.

   

To a degree...

I know that here in Van, if you go down Hastings street yes you will see a lot of crackheads, natives, etc. HOWEVER, if you look closer, in the hordes of people, you will see that the individuals who are TRULY the worst off, look cracked out, are ridiculously thin, & whatnot, are not the natives. Interestingly enough I have noticed that the native people hanging about that area, are clean, they have clean clothes, clean hair, clean faces, and the really dirty people are mostly white. It was something I made a point of looking at closer when I moved over here to the city, because I took some First Nations Studies courses when I was in Uni, (I'm first nations myself) and I was curious to figure out how badly off they really were.

I have yet to figure out why they would hang out in that area though.

Haaaa... yeh seen it before, its great though. How funny is it. Had to call the misses over to watch it, we had a good laugh..... thanks Twist.

   

"Girt by sea...". first time I every heard Advance I thought it was Dirt by sea.... longest time had no idea that girt meant surrounded by....

   

When I was in Australia 6 years ago, the racism I encountered was ...shocking. I heard one woman say "That bloody black bitch, she should've been drowned at birth..." amongst other things (that was the line that really stunned me though) and she wasn't just speaking of any aboriginal person, she was speaking in referance to one of Australia's Gold Medalist Olympic runner's. The fact that the woman had just won a gold medal was completely not important, it was the color of her skin which mattered above all else. I've -never- encountered racism like that before in my life, and haven't since I left Australia. I wouldn't necessarily say all Australians are racist though... the ones that I encountered that were, definitely would fall into the "uneducated" category.

   

A guy I know from Australia came up here for a cultural exchange. He talked to us about how back home some people said: "Fuckin' dirty Abo!" Which is a racial insult aimed at Aboriginees...

   

WELCOME! I've got lot's of respect for Australians, none that I couldn't get along with. Great memories, great friends, beautiful country.

Summer's winding down here in the Great White North..

September the 1st....... sure does my canadian friends, Spring has sprung ! The sun is shining, the bees are a buzzing and the birds are singin their heads off.....weve had a beautiful couple of days here.
The down side is ....again we didnt receive our fair share of winter rain this year...another dry winter !......makes you wonder.

   

God hates Australia.
