You questioned whether or not he was actually in the CAF... based on the fact that he plays a video game.

Are you aware that police & military academy's actually use video games & simulators as part of their training to reduce the natural reluctance that humans (and any other species if they knew how) had to shoot at members of their own species?

Saying "You call yourself CAF" ---Why question that? Here's a better way to word your question, that would be read as far less offensive.

"That's cool that you're in the CAF, what type of video games do you like to play?" or something like that... the way you've worded it originally it really strikes me (and others too obviously) as an implication that the playing of video games means he is not a member of the CAF.

Conversing is fine, but why should he have to explain himself to you?

I will ask what ever I like, a new member joins the intro thread and introduces himself, he is bound to be asked questions, I DID NOT ask him if he was in the CANADIAN FORCES. Bye the way, are YOU aware that they are not called ARMED? Understand that All movies, games ect, depict USA or British Armed Service pers. The Fact that apparently this guy is involved with a game depicting CANADIAN's is in fact very cool, I ask this lad to explain it as I am interested in hearing more about the Canadian content depicted in his Web Site that I am unable to presently view.

Thank you for your two cents, maybe after you have been around more than 2 days you will not be so quick to try and tell people how to ask questions.

To be truthful, this is my second name, I no longer have the E-mail account I signed up on 2 years ago while deployed with the Canadian FORCES, and lost my password. You and others jumped in, I was really trying to carry on a conversation, CAF asked if I was serious, which I am.

   

This has to be the most drama filled welcome thread ever.
I do hope that the member will come back, regardless. It would appear even that person took offense & requested the thread be deleted...
