Just sayin' hello to everyone. I'm CJ, Born in Northern Ireland, but my Parents are Canadian. My dad's from Halifax NS, and my mums from the "Big T" as she calls it (Toronto). I suppose I'm from Belfast, Northern Ireland then. We have the crappy Belfast Giants Hockey team, they ain't NHL standard players, but as my dad says "Beggers can't be choosers", but I actually prefer soccer (Sorry people).
Anyway thats all about me!!!
PS: British TV is crap!!! (I have nothing better to say)
See ya later!!!
No need to apologize for liking soccer. just look at my avatar photo.
What's wrong with English TV? Monty Pyhton is classic as is Fawlty Towers and the Office.
Hello Ulidian...welcome....hows it going eh!
Welcome to the forum! Feel free to ask any one of out moderators if you need any advice.
Ok Stellar...News and Hockey Night in Canada...when they're playing hockey that is....other than that they don't offer much sadly.
Ummm, not what I have seen so far. The best thing I like about it is that most of the time it tells the truth about what’s going on. I wouldn't label it as a piece of crap in my opinion. I have seen some different news channels that replay 60 minute coverage over and over again. For what I have seen on CBC it is better then the average news channel as far as facts and standard delivery of news. It is also one of the major representations of Canada when it comes to its media
Regards,
Stellar
Welcome, welcome new member...
uhh... Yeah! Let's have a British Babes gallery! And a Commonwealth Babes gallery!
Welcome to CKA, Ulidian!
Welcome Ulidian . Good to have some UK perspective on site
. Quick question...does UK tv still air that show with Frank Spencer? I think it was called "Some mothers do have them" (not sure). That was hilarious as hell! That was my favorite show when I was younger (visited family in London a lot). My mom still talks about Fawlty Towers with Basil and some guy that keeps saying "pate lamber????
(or at least that's what it sounds like to me)
. Good times...I miss British comedy!
It's not on UKTV, I think they sometimes show it on BBC2??? I never really watched it though!!! My favorite show was/is Blackadder, especially the Goes Fourth season, its as funny as hell!!!
We've got a new comedy show thats becoming pretty popular called "Little Britain", its really hilarious, it takes the piss out of British stereotypes in a really exaggerated way.
Comedies the one thing Britain does better than a lot of countries. My favorite Irish comedy was Father Ted, it was fantastic!!! I miss it. The man who played the main role Dermot Morgan, died. It was set on an island on the West Coast of Ireland, about three mad priests, Ted the smart scheming one, Jack the drunkin alcoholic pervert and Dougal the idiot. And Mrs Doyle the mad tea-lady who didn't take no for an answer!!!
Lol! Let me take a guess....you must have liked that show "Father Ted"?! . Pretty funny stuff. Yeah I agree Brits have us beat when it comes to comedy...almost makes me wanna get some extra channels on cable....<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZSYYYYYYBBUS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/346.gif' alt='A-ha!' border=0></a>.
