I've actually been a member since 2005 but haven't been very active. My name is Allan Nichols and I'm the founder and Executive Director of the Canadian Expat Association. The association acts as an advocate for Canadians that are living outside of the country.

We Canadians in general love the contributions that our people have made to the world. Hundreds of Canadians in Hollywood, the Music scene, Technology and business have made a huge impact on the globe. But what about the contributions that many of these Canadians living abroad have made to Canada?

Literally billions of dollars in bilateral trade between Canada and the rest of the world can attributed both directly and indirectly to Canadians living abroad. It is the goal of the Canadian Expat Association to represent these people back here as rules, laws and even media directly affects them and their ability to continue to contribute to Canada.
