I spent almost two years on Kinmen(金門), a stone's throw away.

the high 30 degree,low 20 degree,sunshine all day

Winter can miserable there. Temperatures go into the single digits( the highs are lucky to crack 11 or 12), it's often windy and there is pea soup fog quite frequently for days on end, which sometimes even shut our work down. I found the nice weather is from Late October to mid December and March - early May.

Xiamen used to be called AMOY.......directly opposite Taiwan.
