I would like to start this topic to the members of the forum who are the most active posters. Particularly those that haven't been flashes in the pan and have made the effort to give their take on the issues discussed. I have not posted on every thread but I have read more than I have posted and I enjoy the quality of the banter on this site.
They have made the forum anywhere from a daily drama-circus to very surprising and eccentric. I often like to start a topic just to see what the reactions will be and I have not been disappointed with the returns.
For my part I will try to attempt to keep the topics as timely and relevant to the board as possible. The input from the members, particularly those of long standing, have had a hand in shaping what topics I post so keep that in mind!
Go for it. I think of all the long time proliferate posters I have debated you the least. We just never seem to find ourselves on similiar threads with debatable points.
Interesting.
Not surprising, considering there is almost 20,000 registered members on this site so there is a great deal of diversity. It could be that when ever you mention 'Xitan' I think L. Ron Hubbard and glaze over. Not a bad thing, I understand your take on the cult of Christianity and religion as a whole, just not my gig.
It seems like every other new topic is started by you Scape, with a link to an article, or the article itself. I like that, it gives everyone a chance to get a few facts to get started with. Too bad some of them are just too long to read, at least for my liking
I agree dgthe3 and thanks. I try (and do not always succeed!) to present the topic minus spin but with enough details to entice. You do raise a good point about length. Some of my favorite topics are between myself and Toro but frankly I would be amazed if more than the most dedicated read them to comment because they are so long. Sad really, I think Toro best posts are in regards to economics but they don't showcase well. Mind you, his graphs are cool.
Anyway, I do try to keep the topics brief though some have insisted I am from the google university cough*Dayseed*cough and that I do not analyze. Can't please them all.
my physics 101 prof told us all in first year 'If you don't know, ask google! google knows all'
Google is fine for general knowledge, but not so great for scolarly endevours. Last time i checked, the facts here never needed to be perfect for this site, since people would debate them even if they were perfect:lol: . Therefore, google is just fine.
