I always wanted to get into commercial making. I would make an interesting looking commercial with the first 3/4 being really quit talking so you'd have to turn up the volume, then the last 5 seconds screaming

Just for poeple like you, cause guess what? You would talk to people at work about my commercial and the product it was for. Success

Any pr is not always good pr, despite the saying.
I doubt I would make any mention of the product at all, other than how much the commercial sucked.
And as soon as I saw the commercial coming on a second time I would change the channel.

Actually I noticed that the dogs would run and hide when the Capital One ads came on--(hands in my pockets).....I guess I yelled a lot.

I was really pleased with their replacement---(YOU'VE GOT BANKERS) for a time but is starting to wear thin now.

This is unrelated to the thread for the commercial itself is not annoying, although the kid might be.

But it is funny, nonetheless

Can you guess the product before the ad ends:

That, Pimp, is one of the most annoying commercials I have ever seen  So it works, because it was intented to be so ;-)

What I find very annoying are all those pill-commercials. "If you suffer from blah blah blah blah, contact your doctor. I you feel drowsyness, dizzyness, fatique blah blah, you are not gonna die, but it can be a symptom of serious side effects" (or something) Contact your doctor before taking these medications.

Jesus, don't shove it through my throat if I can not buy it over the counter! My doctor knows what he is doing!

DMP08 @ Thu Dec 13, 2007 10:38 pm

The best about the pill commercials is the side effects are wose than what they are helping
Do you suffer from sniffles? Take this. Possible side effects may include sneazing, coughing, watery eyes, indegestion, diarrhea, vomiting, genital warts, bleeding sores, oozing glands, hair loss, loss of appetite, weight gain, blindness, loss of taste, or coma. So if you have sniffles, this drug is for you! Ask you doctor.

I can tone out pretty much any commercial when I'm watching the tube.
What I do hate though, is seeing the same one over and over again.
I was watching Thursday night football yesterday and the same commercial with Santa Clause and a retractable aluminum ladder came up about 15 times during the game.
Surprisingly, my TV come out intact at the end of it all.

Note: I hate the Head-On commercials.

I'm not a fan of the commercial with two guys going on a roadtrip, and by the time they need to fill up the gastank, they both have ridiculously-long beards and start screaming at each other like retards.

Fucking annoying.

That reverse mortgage commercial that plays on the noon news. The phrase "Woudn't it be nice" repeated ad nauseum...

kitty @ Fri Dec 14, 2007 8:42 am

From a marketing perspective ... annoying or not you noticed those commercials and remembered them in a sea of millions of commercials. The call to action may not be to run out and but their product but it does make them top of mind.

i have been working on a few commercials for my company and they are considered annoying by some and funny by most. The call to action is to be remembered.
