No.
This idiocy started a long time ago.
Just another stupid pet vanity project from a bunch of saggedy assed EU bureaucrats.
You know, your kind of guys.
It won't matter, the first sign of trouble, the EU will be screaming and crying for
the U.S.A.

But Nato itself is just "another stupid pet vanity project from a bunch of saggedy assed" North American and EU bureaucrats which has long outlived its usefulness or stated purpose.
It's a jobs program and arms industry pork program.

Nope. This is Juncker's plan to create an EU military under the command of Brussels and to end the independent militaries of the member states, thereby effectively rendering sovereign nations into provinces of the EU.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-37359196http://www.breakingnews.ie/world/german ... 54914.htmlJuncker is particularly hot to do this since the Brexit in the sincere hope that a Federal EU will be able to stop any more member states from seceding from the Union.

True enough, the Dutch military is already basically integrated into the German,
I imagine the Danes will follow soon enough.
I think for now it will more of a Nato-esque setup, soldiers will stay in their
own national armies, and then seconded to the EU.
After all, what will an EU soldier fight for ?
That gay assed blue flag ?
Queen Junker ?
Der neu Fuhrer, Merkel ?
Don't think so.
Be interesting to see what language the new EU army will use.
Probably, English.
The EU has real trouble right now, East - West over migrants,
North - South over economics and the Euro, and Payer - Payee countries over
everything else.
