We rarely hear about the good ones, because the bad ones give them a P.R. problem.

   

Awesome.

For every bad cop there are a hell of a lot of good ones. Glad to see a story about one of the vast majority of police officers.

   

For every bad one out there, there's hundreds of good ones, despite what some would have you believe.

That kind of thing happens a lot. Things like that don't get a lot of attention as much ast should.

   

First off, kudos to this officer. He made the national news for his actions.

Sadly, for every bad one you hear about there are hundreds more who keep getting away with it.

   

   

Americans need a better screening process for their LEOs.

   

So Bart give me some numbers on corrupt Police Officers.

There are no numbers on corrupt police officers. The principle reason for this is because police would be responsible for compiling the numbers. What cops are terminated for corruption are shielded form public scrutiny by union rules that protect their privacy.

Attacking your question a different way: Here's a challenge for you...

1. Determine the exact number of people who were shot by police (for any reason) last year or any other year.

2. Determine the exact number of people who were wrongfully shot by police last year or any other year.

3. Determine the exact number of warrantless (aka: 'Illegal') no-knock searches that were carried out by police last year or any other year.

4. Determine the exact number of police officers who were shot (for any reason) by other police officers last year or any other year.

You will not ever compile these numbers because the collective body of law enforcement does not want these numbers compiled or parsed.

But do allow me to pass on some good advice: If you ever find yourself in Woodland, California and you're not white with California license plates on your vehicle then my advice is to quickly and quietly leave town.

   

Reason I bumped was your post was a tad over the top.
Lots of excellent Police officers are tarred by the corrupted ones.

   

Five years ago I felt the same as you. Then I became a reserve deputy and found that the Constitution I'd seen men in uniform die for was being sh*t on daily by people with badges.

How do I put this to you?

Imagine one day you find yourself at an event and you see one of your coworkers detain someone for no discernable reason. He decides to haul the person to a place where he expects no one can observe him and then he starts to beat the sh*t out of the person. You find him doing this and you take him into custody. Then your managers inform you that you are wrong. You're expected to shut up when your coworker beats the sh*t out of someone for no discernable reason. It's then no surprise to you when you don't get much work anymore and when you eventually turn in your badge for lack of use.

And then you have to put up with people who worship people with badges as if they're invested with magical powers and as if they're better than everyone else.

So if you think just my post was over the top you'd probably not be a big fan of reality.
