Do we really need Scouts and Brownie's?

If the Boy Scouts or I should say just “Scouts” are unisex why are there still Brownie’s? It doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense to me. If you have one organization that is co-ed why do you still need one that does pretty much the same thing but is for girls only? If you’re going to allow girls into the Scouts wouldn’t it make more sense to combine the two so that they can share the resources of a community rather than splitting them?
Not to mention, doesn’t this set a bit of a double standard?

Well, I didn't want to be the first one to say anything but it does kind of bug me that they made the scouts co-ed. 
That's fine but why then would you continue to have Brownie's which is only for girls? Seems a little lop sided to me.

As long as they keep selling the good cookies, the vanilla and chocolate ones not those crappy mint ones, then i guess I'll back off

Scouts was a hoot. I would have stayed on past 13 if it had had women.
