Favorite canadian city?
umm I'm from newfoundland
well I'm still sticking with my opinion in which there should be one from each province.. I don't think you need to travel much to know the major cities...
Where's Sudbury?
Without that choice, I vote for Montreal.

Bilingualism in Ottawa is a one way street. It’s all about bending over backwards to accommodate one language.
Ever been/lived Quebec side?

Anglophones in Ottawa really have limited career options.
My friend maintains aircraft at the Ottawa Flying Club.
My doctor is unilingual.
My dentist is unilingual.
My orthodontist is unilingual.
I know about 7 businessmen who speak only English. They easily make a million each year.
Let's not forget the high-tech sector...
And from my recent experience in the whole government/public sector, there are still a shitload of Anglos in fairly good positions.
I am sorry to hear about your bad fortunes in this city, but from what I can tell, most people who leave Ottawa do so because it's boring. Not because there are no jobs.

Calm down... did you saw my post?
I said that I posted St. John and it didn't appear.
Now I can modify the poll, since it's been more than 120 minutes I posted it.
sorry the poll will stay like this. And for such city like fredericton, you know even calgary didn't have a vote... imagine fredericton...
Victoria - I know it's nice because God Himself has an apartment on the Inner Harbour.

My favourite canadian city would have to be Jasper, though I haven't seen anything east of Alberta.
My absolute favourite city, though, isn't in Canada. It's Waimea. There's something about the big island that transcends nationalism. The other-worldly beauty of the cinder-cones atop Mauna Kea. the beaches that range from beautiful, soft white sand to black sand that's younger than me, to sand that's almost made of gemstones. The fire and brimstone. The lush rainforest turning to temperate grassland turning to desert in a half-hour drive. Not that any of that is in Kona, but it's all close, and Waimea has a most agreeable climate.
If I win the lottery, I'm gone.

Well, I was actually describing the whole of the big island of Hawaii. The town of Waimea is just an agreeable spot to live at.
PS, I accidentally said Kona in there. That's where we stayed on our recent vacation, but I'd rather live in Waimea.
Whitehorse. It's small enough to still know your neighbours, and the same kind of scenery as Jasper or Banff.
Montreal is a close third, after Edmonton.
Dunno, I have never been to Canada
