ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
I'm not sure if the residents of southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba are sharing your enthusiasm over their first snow fall.

I hear ya...agreed.

Greetings from Winnipeg.

I'm cool with posting these since the trauma was eased by the +7 temps today allowing me to find the MIA dog scat apres la neige.

Ha-Hah. You got snowed on.

Sorry, just wanted to rub it in.

We've had snow here in late Sep already, but nothing major as yet. The COP in Calgary already has a good snow base for skiing and there's lots of snow in the mountains. Today we had a beautiful chinook - plus 17!

Not a flake here yet... and I've been hoping for snow since the end of August.

Sometimes I see leaves falling off trees out of the corner of my eye and almost do a backflip thinking it's finally snowing. :?

Now, curiosity is stoked.

Please pm me the name of the street you think this is!

Damn, like my fifth post on a national web forum...

Canada is small. ;)

Seeing those pictures reminds me that while I miss snow, I don't miss it that much. I drove home after working late during last New Year's Eve blizzard. Made it all the way from the corner Portage and Main to Maryland and then all the way down Academy to Cambridge, almost got to Dromore and had to walk the rest of the way home. Those last 300 ft were real killers. What I do miss though is snowmobiling.

In my part of Texas we might have 1-2 days of snow here if we are lucky. Grew up in OHIO so i know what its like to have 3+ feet of snow on the ground. Here they get a light dusting and think they are haveing a blizzard.

The best mittens I have ever had were from Texas. My aunt worked down at one of the universities for a while and sent some up for Christmas. Couldn't figure out why Texans would need such great mittens (double layer, knitted wool... I still wear them). She said if it drops below 50F, people started getting out the snow suits dwn there!

Click my WWW at the bottom of the post to see my sisters snowmobile site and check out the gallery if you want to see some good snow and some good sledding.

Guided for 5 or so years there on my days off. :o
