Hi there.

Just wanna say "hello" to you guys livin' in the country I like most
in the world. :)

Since a few years I seriously think about emmigrating to Canada
some day... (don't know if I'll do so in a far future because life
here isn't so bad that it wouldn't be a risk to start a whole new
existence...)

But I am planning to spend at least a two week holiday in Canada
when I got enough money (poor student, hehe). 8)

What do you think I should visit when the day comes I make that trip?
Winnipeg for example should be very nice I heard... right? :)
(Just reading the names I must say "Thunder Bay" sounds f'ing cool ;) )

And I have other questions which interest me, some are kind of
stupid, but would be cool if you answer them ;) :

- Anyone ever been to germany? If yes, how was it?

- How could is it for example in Toronto in average? Really sooo cold
in Canada, even near the US-border?

- What are the first 3 words you connect with us (germans)?
And what do you think about us in general?

More questions maybe later...

Greets from Germany (the other country except the French not supporting
the US politics ;) )

Toronto doesn't get winters like the rest of Canada, that's why we've given all of our snow removal equipment to the other major cities across this country. If you come to Canada...just remember not to feed the wild Polar bears that roam the streets!

Hello german friend.
I personaly really like germany. This last summer i went backpacking 2 months in Europe and Germany was my favorite country. I also really like ww2 hisotry, os that helped. unfortunaly even today, when ppl think of germany they think of those dark 20 years or so. But germany has such a long interesting history.

When i think of germany i tihnk of
Shnitzel, big beer mugs, leaderhosen
good cars, fast roads, berlin, and techno!

I ahve traveled a fair bit myself, for my age. All over the states east west coats and the middle, australasia, europe. But i still think the most beautiful spot is British Columbia and Vancouver. if your into outdoor sports i definatly recommend BC.

Unification

Economic

Heartland

In general, dam fine people. Forged by conflict, well seasoned to the horrors of war. Proud, the heart of change in Europe. Has yet to reclaim their place on the world stage but has proven to be a leader none the less. Politicaly diverse with a strong work ethic. I think that Germany is about to shine on the world stage once again with the rise of the euro.

Hi from one german to another . I am Canadian born and raised tho. You would like Canada Alberta especially but I see Canadaka is touting BC . A nice province to be sure . I lived there for 10 yrs . BUt too dang wet on the coast had to come back for the snow .
3 things I think of is beer , volkswagon , and your ability to adapt .

You should definitely check out Winnipeg. There's a German restaurant called Gasthaus (sp?) that tour buses stop at because of its authenticity, apparently. If you want to see polar bears, you'll have to go all the way up to Churchill though.

"You should definitely check out Winnipeg. There's a German restaurant called Gasthaus"
^^ Hehe, cool.

"Heartland"
^^ What does this mean?
Is it related to our position "in the heart of Europe"?

"When i think of germany i tihnk of
Shnitzel, big beer mugs, leaderhosen
good cars, fast roads, berlin, and techno!"

^^ Schnitzel & beer rules, yeah. :)
(Can you get "Beck's" beer in Canada? My favourite ;) )
Lederhosen are a funny thing almost everybody on the new continent
thinks of when you ask for Germany. :D
I wonder how the Bavarians did this because only there anyone cares
about such kind of "clothing". ;) :D

"Good cars" is relative. ;)
I for myself drive a '91 Pontiac Firebird. :)
(nearly nobody here drives american because the fuel/gas (differnce?)
is 3 times more expensive here than in America. :(
(But it is at least better, your premium is our standard, and we have
two additional kinds of gas that are better than it, hehe)

I wonder how you can like german/europe cars, because at the slow
speeds I think it is real hell to drive them. ;)
20mp/h with my firebird - just cool.
With my mother's Ford Focus it feels like you are still standing at such
low speeds... :D

BTW, if you were US-citizens I'd say "do something that Ford exports
the damn cool MustangGT to us!" ;)
(about 24.000 US-$ = about 20.000€. If you buy one here from a dealer
who gets them from the US you pay about 35.000€ = 50.000 US-$... and
the parts and the gas... argh, why do our cars don't look like the new
Mustang, hehe)

"Fast roads" is true, hehe, I am proud of it and hope they won't take away
this right of us. :)
(some politicians want to...)

But I never drive faster than about 140mp/h, that's rally enough. ;)
(The Firebird sucks at speed above 100mp/h... starts "swimming"...
btw... additional Oil-Cooler is installed ;) )

"Berlin" & "Techno" are two things I don't like. ;)
Cologne & Rock/Metal is what I like, hehe... 8)
(Is it true many people know Rammstein in the US, maybe Canada too?)

Are there any canadian music videos?
I mean, except Avril and Bif... ;)
I am very interested in unpopular but good bandy/artists. :)

BTW, two interesting german music videos:

Rammstein - Amerika (would be interesting for me how you react
to this... I don't think any US/Canadian TV-Channel would play it... ;) )

Juli - Perfekte Welle (nice german band, nice video... not really my
style but I like this, maybe because of the female lead singer ;) )

edit

Ooomgh.... seems like a new "smilies-in-one-post-world-record"... *lol*

blubs @ Thu Nov 18, 2004 2:31 pm

Hey glad to hear you drive a Firebird I drive a 82 Formula one had it for yrs still in mint condition . Yeah the price of gas must be a bitch over there . It's a bitch
here also .

Scape @ Thu Nov 18, 2004 3:23 pm

REISE, REISE!

Rammstein owns. Heartland refers to the geographic, economic and social heart of Europe.

Johnnybgoodaaaaa @ Thu Nov 18, 2004 4:13 pm

Only music videos you get on US television stations like MTV are pop and rap, although nowadays everyone wants to be "punk" it seems...Whatever happened to MTV, used to be all about videos...

Castles- I'm probably the only person in the world who would visit a country based solely on it's castles.
Food and beer- Another reason for visiting any place (At least in my book)
Octoberfest- uh...need I say more
