Hey folks. Here it is the second week of May so spring should be officially happening. How has yours been so far? Here in good ole SK spring finally arrived with most of the snow melting and the annual flooding. To make things better we have both water and fire. Grass fires are starting to pop up all over the place. Plus the, ever so welcomed, tonnes of dust blowing around.

Who will be the first one to bitch that it is too hot?

Like the winter, mild. It's nice but not hot. Our winter was one of the longest and one of the mildest I have seen in 40 years in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, didn't plug in my van one time, but like the energizer bunny, it just kept on going, and going and going....

Weird...I live in Southern Ontario. Last January I had to plug in my car for the first time, went down to -22C two nights running and never rose above -20 during the day. Now it's been above seasonal for the last 8 days, ranging from +20C to +23C. C

Currently the rain's dropping like stair rods and temp is below seasonal.

Springs been mostly chilly. Finally started warming up a bit the last week or so. One day of about 30 degrees that seemed to come from nowhere and go back to the same place over the course of one day. Lasted just long enough for one of the new irishmen at work to set mild case of sunstroke. Apparently 30 degrees and dry dry dry isn't something they're used to. ;)

What Spring? It's summer! :)

Spring in California ended on Tuesday and it is now Summer. Have to say, I could've gone a while longer before the hot weather started.

I've had two severe sinus/throat infections in the space of a month, both of which are the result of getting too close to other humans (the first from taking the bus to work, the second apparently from just walking through a relatively uncrowded WalMart the other night). And I'm probably going to have to file for bankruptcy within the next two months. All in all, spring 2013's been a real peach for me thus far.

We are 4 to 5 weeks behind last year. I hate spring as it is.............but my week in Florida was fantastic, except for the damage to brain cells and my liver.

Till today its been a bit cooler then in the past 10yrs or so only a few hot days. Today its been hummid after the nice rain we got. We are expected to be in the low 80's over the weekend for our highs. Just about right for a Texas spring. By July we should be pushing high 90's Low 100's like normal for the past 100yrs or so.

Garden is mostly planted...tulips are gone...into regular lawn mowing...been out camping twice and surfing once...deer are eyeing my Hydrangeas...dog needs grooming...slowly switching from porter to IPA...wine touring this weekend...

So far so good.

Better than last year. That makes it merely the second-worst spring of my lifetime.

Its absolutely outstanding the last 10 days in BC. I just got back from the interior where it was 25C-33C for the last week!

Now back home on the coast in Vancouver where its an absolutely pleasant 20-25C (depending on proximity to the water). We're headed for a bit a cloudy stretch but people here are very cheerful over the gorgeous weather! :) :)

In the Ottawa area we basically went from winter to summer for about two weeks, with highs of 25 for a couple of days. It's back to normal spring weather now, rain with a low of 11 for tonight.

Either way, I'm headed for Frontenac park in two weeks. Solo three night backpacking trip. I can't wait. I'll be filming it.

I'll post it for you yahoos when I get back.

I'm looking forward to the bugs and rain.

P.S. Yes, I'm informing someone as to where I'm going with a map of the area , the route I plan to travel and when I'll be back. Better safe than stupid.
