The weather here has been sunny for a few days. Great big yellow ball in sky frighten and confuse Trog! However, the deluge of the past few weeks has made it more than a little moist. Right now the temp is 32 C but the humidex is about 46C. The rest of the week looks like this:

Kaohsiung Area Temperature (℃) Weather Comfort index Probability of Precipitation (%)
Today 06/16 12:00~06/16 20:00 27 ~ 34 COMFORTABLE~HOT 10 %
Tonight 06/16 20:00~06/17 08:00 25 ~ 28 COMFORTABLE 0 %
Tomorrow 06/17 08:00~06/17 20:00 27 ~ 34 COMFORTABLE~HOT 0 %

You're going to freeze when you get back here ...in the prairies its been mid teens to low twenties and frequent rain but hell I can't take working in the heat like I used to anyway .

Cooler weather isn't that far away as you can usually escape to the mountains, which are only an hour away. Yushan is only 7 C right now and Alishan which you can drive to the top of, or walk to the top of or take a train to the summit is about 14 - 15 C. It's just like home up there, well except for the huge crowds of Chinese that is. Kenting national Park, which is about 2 hrs to the south also offers a break from the humidity, but not the heat. Worse comes to worse, the beach is only 10 minutes away and most Taiwanese are terrified of water more than crotch level deep.

Theses aren't my pictures, but this gives you an idea what Alishan looks like

Jeez, we had quite a storm here last night... walked to the store, and I was almost blown right off my feet a few times. Raining like mad, getting hit by pieces of tree - it was an interesting trip!

I think it finally stopped, sun broke out now in southern Alberta.Must have had 3 inches since yesterday morn to add to the steady rain we had the last 2 weeks. Some nice funnell clouds yesterday to.Getting close to flooding here in the headwaters but we should be ok if its done with the monsoons. You cant even see some of the farmers fields that were seeded 2 weeks ago.Reminds me of the same time last year when we got the floods.

Gotta laugh at those new housing subdivisions in Calgary, bet you cant buy a pair of gumboots in that city right now.
