I'd say the Romans did the most seeing as though they made all the land walls, sea walls, the Hagia Sophia, etc.
Uhh right.

They did. Without those walls it ain't a bastion.
Your right, however can you convey that in a simple English sentence?
Huh?

This, maybe in English people can better respond. Or, you can dodge my other salient question before this and continue on....

Ok Ok, I see your point. Walls can be breached and why did the Christians not retake it?
Or do you not know how to answser questions and just reside with resounding HUH?

Well, I will leave that to others to decide if it was in readable English.

Didn't we cover all this a few posts back? Europe was tied up. Constantinople did its job. Europe lived. God blessed Constantinople.
The huh was to you second-guessing the "English-ness" of that one post.

No, Constantinople DIDNT do its job. It Lost.
I realize the Christians couldnt retake it at THAT time. Why not in the future?

Constantinople's job was to preserve Western Civilization. And Western Civilization is still around.
And seriously, go back and read that one sentence and try using a short pause after "most." You might not look so foolish then.

Maybe the Reformation and exploring the other half of the planet and internal disputes made it not top priority....

You said it. A united Europe could have vanquished the Ottoman Turks.
But, due to the issues as stated above, their interest was elsewhere.

Well, we can best say that Christian power is not as powerful as we think? The Muslims united to attack, the Christians were disunited and disfunctional. Weak.
