I doubt anyone, except for the most obtuse of cultural-relativist liberals, is really claiming that there aren't major cultural differences between us an Muslims. It'd certainly be counter-factual to do so. That some of the Muslims in the audience would applaud something like that isn't all that surprising. The only thing as dumb as that I've ever seen in a movie theatre was during the utterly execrable Michael Bay's 'Armageddon' when Paris got destroyed by an asteroid fragment and some of the dopes in the crowd started cheering (Paris destroyed - heh, LOL. )

I'll counter with the statement that moral depravities or barbarism on the part of the Muslims doesn't justify the same behaviour on our side. Or justify launching any more lie-based wars against them. Or flipping out like a bunch of rabid backwoods Klansmen over a 'mosque' that's allegedly being built 'right on Ground Zero'. Or burning a Koran in public and then pretending to be surprised when the furour erupts. Like the old saying sort of went, if the kid next door jumped off a bridge would you do the exact same thing because 'he did it first'?

I hope you remember that in the movie 2012 they actually made a concious descision not to show Mecca being destroyed for fear of an Islamic backlash.

More like they didn't want to affect overseas box-office that would have included some major income from the Muslim countries. It was probably that more than any politically-correct chicken shittery that would have dictated a decision like that. Good Business Sense Rule #1: don't insult the audience that you're trying to make money off of, especially the ones who are known to get a tad hyper-reactive.

Good ol' 2012. Panicky Idiot #1 on the bridge of the ark had me cheering pretty damn hard that everyone had gotten killed.

no idea, but even one radical(foreign born or domestic) in our midst willing to kill us, because of our freedoms, is one too many.

true, but i would not use that one radical as a means to justify new radical policy. there has to be a measured response to things.

Careful. Keep that up and you'll ruin your redneck reputation. You haven't been riding a bicycle lately, have you?
