Life without winter

This week has been one of those weeks where I haven't missed winter at all. I was supposed to be in Phuket for holidays, but I resigned my job here and will be closing up shop in a couple of weeks. The choice is Cambodia or Canada now. Even though I didn't get to go south, the weather here has been quite balmy during the day, at around 23 - 25 C with the lows going no lower than 15 C. Just thought I'd share a few pictures of where I spent my morning.

This January is shaping up to be the warmest in Canada in over a century. In some places it is 10 degrees warmer than the norm. We will pay for this come summer.

10 C above normal, while better is still cold. I'll take the warm weather for now.

I've been complaining how too warm it has been...even 2C is too warm in my books in the middle of winter.

Why you quit your job????

Chinese bureaucracy, corruption, inefficiency and ineptness are the main reasons. I know you find these traits anywhere in the world but this is where bureaucracy was invented and they've had thousands of years to perfect it's worst elements.

I must say that I am surprised you left your job but I also know what's like when you're fed up. I'm not that far south (Pittsbirgh) but we still don't have any snow. We've been having 50 to 60 F (10 to 16 C) degree weather down here which isn't reight for this area. I'm telling ya, I don't mind coming back to it after a few weeks back home. Next stop for us...Phoenix by next fall.
