I support Marijuana and I think it should be legal in Canada because I dont see anything wrong with it. What do you think of the current state of Marijuana in Canada? should it be legal or illegal?
Legal.
I still think decriminalization for small amounts is the best route to go. It leaves casual users be all the while freeing resources to go after producers and traffickers.
decriminalize.
decriminalize the use and the ownership of a certain amount of plants, and make sure it can be bought and smoked inside a "coffeeshop", not only outside.
I'm for lagalizing it so we can tax and regulate it. Just decriminalizing it won't do that...
Decriminalizing does not take the profit/crime out, in fact it will do the opposite.
Increasing demand will require more product.
More demand pushes prices up and pushes suppliers to increase production.
Increasing production means more locations, coupled with higher product value means more security and more violent competition.
For crime and violence on the street to go down, the squeeze must be placed on the suppliers, not the users.
Do not decriminalize--legalize. Any amount.
Tax the shit out of it.
fucking kids are stupid already and you people want to legalize it. You have been smoking too much already.
aaaahhhh the sweet sweet mary jane debate.
i'm not going to weigh in too heavily, but yes, decriminalization is the way to go, it will pump money into the criminal justice system, keep people out of the courts and free up resources to go after the real criminals, the hard drugs and the fuckers brining that shit into this country.

Heavy,
I don't think Canada has too much of a marijuana importation problem. I'd say our problem has to do with it creeping out of our borders...especially south.
Marijuana's an interesting debate. It's hard to argue that marijuana is more debilitating to society than alcohol. I don't know too many stoners that have beat the living shit out of their wives.
It's not something we should be encouraging though. If Canada moved to decriminalize personal possession and kept up the same stringent attack on it that cigarettes currently exist under, I think that would be the best move.
Legalizing it wouldn't do much good for crime. See the above comment about leaky borders to understand that the United States doesn't exactly share our view of marijuana, and they're no less wrong for doing so.
no, no, you misunderstood me, i mean the importation of hard drugs such as coke etc.
you touch on the only reason why we haven't decriminalized it yet, the big dumb fellers down in the US who think marijuana is as bad as slapping the Virgin Marry. once they ease up on their nazi like stance on marijuana, we will be free to do what we want with regards to marijuana.
i wanna save my 420'th post for this thread!
